Evening 241 } Action } Open Mingle
[ As mentioned by the wardens yesterday, Eric is hosting a costume party. The Blood Shack is lit by candles for the evening (he remembers the last party he had being interrupted by a power outage) and a small buffet of sorts has been erected. It furnishes mostly hors d'oeuvre and finer foods, things that Caroline picked out as Eric hasn't a clue about human food.

There is blood on tap (naturally) as well as a full bar. Eric has made certain to include water, sodas, tea and various non-alcoholic drinks.

The jukebox is playing a variety of music, but patrons are always invited to pick out their own music. The dance floor has a disco ball and there's the ever present 'dancing' pole on stage if someone gets brave. Tables are scattered about as are sofas and chairs so that people have a choice where they sit.

Enjoy yourself, mix, mingle and admire everyone's costume and everyone is required to have a costume in order to be here. ]

[ Eric is generally a dick when he's not in his place of business so he rarely holds it against someone when they're less than polite, as long as it's not directed toward Sookie. He shakes Rudy's hand. Rudy may notice that Eric is more room temperature than 98.6, but then again he might not. Lots of people have cold hands, right? ]

[What he's imagining is a little off base-- more goth kids and bad choices than actual undead-- but in his world the things that go bump in the night aren't of the supernatural variety. Which wouldnt event mean there aren't those dedicated enough to the idea to walk around with a glass of blood.]

I've never heard of a prison allowing its inmates this much freedom.

[He's still half-convinced this is an hallucination. The ocean floor, the prison setting, even the copious quantities of blood wouldn't seem out of place. If he's taking that possibility in striped, it's mainly because panicking about insanity doesn't seem terribly productive. That doesn't mean he believes what he sees. But time enough for that, later.]

Not particularly. I like to have something of the sort every now and then. It's good for business. [ Not that there's an economy, but Eric keeps track of these sorts of things anyway: how much traffic the bar gets, how much blood and alcohol it goes through. It gives him something to do and makes him feel as if he's succeeding with a business that was, at one point, his entire life back home. ]

I've a friend who plans all of the events. She likes for them to have themes. Last time it was the Roaring Twenties, I believe.
