Day 241 // action - sector 4
[ Haruka has an advantage over the other new arrivals - she's had the good fortune to encounter someone she knows from home. Someone she knows very well, in fact. And whom she's apparently abandoned here for the past three months.

Not that Michiru blames her. They've spoken about the asylum, and even started moving Haruka into Michiru's apartment. (Naiad the Eevee doesn't seem to mind.) But Haruka can't shake her uneasiness. If she'd had to sit here, stewing, away from everything she knows....

Well, she'd probably bear it better than she thinks. So this walk was supposed to clear her head.

Yet here she stands outside a jewelry shop in Sector 4, pondering the wares. In her new slacks and jacket, she looks like a man who's been here forever - unless anybody looks down to notice the new-arrival anklet poking out of her cuff. She's also temporarily taken off her communicator - yeah, she knows she needs it, but wow is it gonna take some getting used to.

And wow, random passerby, is this "gentleman" absorbed in his perusal of the shop window. You could probably cut glass with that stare. ]

Understandable.

[ Haruka faces Tear more fully, even her posture adjusting as she shifts from smart-aleck mode into blunt honesty. ]

In that case, I'm living around here. You shouldn't have any issues unless what this place bills as "motorbikes" make too much noise - but if that happens I'll get the engine tweaked. And you're plenty attractive even without jewelry.

[ The side of her mouth twitches impishly. ] Is that better?

...Motorbikes-- some sort of vehicle? I doubt you'll find one, then. [Sticking to the track most comfortable out of those brought up]

Well, the term gives me a rough idea... [Motorized, "bike"-- bicycle] And if what you're speaking of is at all similar, then no. We don't currently have a vehicle like that on my world.

[Settling her weight back into a more idle stance, she clasps her forearm with the opposing hand, not quite crossing her arms. They do good to have landships and the odd flying machine]

Of course I do. [It's clear that disgruntles her, a bit-- she gets that question ridiculously often, and she already knows she's not quite like normal people-- but she bites her tongue on quickly reminding she was only getting polish. Because Haruka's right on her being practical and that's proof... and because she instead opts to mull over a thought, staring pensively for a minute]

... Alright. I'll take you up on your offer, then. You were kind enough to give it.

Somehow... I doubt you'll have a problem making it known, if you do have luck getting something with wheels.

[Lightly. It's not an urgent enough thing to be called up for... though she does feel strangely interested, now that she's committed]

So I'll be seeing you at that time then, I guess, Haruka. [A tiny wave, accompanied by an equally tiny smile, that's just a tad unsure of what she's gotten herself into]

[How very fortunate that is for Tear, then. Because though she does little more than tense at first-- not back away, of course, there's no hostility in Haruka's movement...

It's the little nickname after that really sends the red across her face and nearly to the tips of her ears, and there's a faint, failed attempt to say something before she just brings her hand up to cover part of her face.

It takes a few moments for her to be able to square her shoulders and head back home like originally planned]
