[ Welcome to Sector 5, home of the hospital, non-denominational prayer facility, memorial gardens, graveyard and, more importantly, the museum.

Today, the wardens are treating you to a special exhibit titled "The History of Self-Stimulation Through Mechanical Seismic Activity" where you can partake in such wonderful displays such as "Hand Cranked — A Guide to Historical Devices" (complete with vintage ads such as Aids That Every Woman Appreciates and Vibration is Life ) and "Bullets and Probes — Vibrations from a Universal Perspective" that feature devices from many different worlds.

Feel free to gawk at these colorful and sometimes frightening displays, peruse the gift shop (of course there's a gift shop!) or maybe just wander the rest of the Sector! ]

	[ thankfully elena hasn't had the pleasure of meeting tyki yet. ] In my experience, enemies are usually both. [ katherine looking just like her was creepy. tomb vampires obsessed with said face was pretty creepy too. klaus was a whole other league of creepy. ] So what do you think of the exhibit? [ elena sees what you did there, kitty. here's a playful look, and then she goes back to browsing through the table of paraphernalia. she is wondering something: ] I'm going on a date with Damon. [ looking so casually down at strap-on vibrators or something. somehow saying that to someone that's not herself or anyone she actually knows doesn't sound so ridiculous. or maybe it's just because she's already told kitty how she feels. there was no judgement with kitty.

[ she's well aware it's a bad idea. or at least not something she should do. what she thought she was asking for was advice; now she realizes maybe she wanted justification. she exhales. ] I know it's a bad idea. I know there are so many reasons why I shouldn't. I'm not sure I have the self-control for anything with Damon. [ she looks away, shakes her head some. ] I just... it's what I want. [ even if she's not sure how to define how she feels about him at all. it can't be what she wants, can it? ] Have you ever felt that way?

[A little more quietly.] A lot. [Such an understatement. Everything with Tyki was wrong and full of wanting.]

But at the time I wanted it—him—because it was wrong. It seemed easier somehow. [It was all a lot clearer before. Now it just seems...sad? Pathetic?] Then somewhere along the way I convinced myself it wasn't wrong. That he was redeemable. That he might want to change. [It's strange when you are purposefully not making eye contact and that only leaves you sex toys to look at instead.]

But that was a different guy. And a different girl. [She looks at Elena again with a half smile.]

[ this is obviously the best place to have this conversation. over the table of sex toys. elena at the moment is much too concentrated on kitty to really give any butt plugs her attention, thankfully.

she knows that part - wanting something, maybe because it is wrong and being selfish is easy. but nothing with damon has ever been easy. giving in has never been something she's thought was right, even now. she's afraid maybe she will suddenly, witnessing kitty's sincerity. she's thought, she's hoped, she's wanted and needed damon to be a better man, so she could make sense of how she could let go of all her anger, even if she can't forgive so much of what he's done. maybe never would have, if he hadn't been dying.

elena's a fatalist; she's never truly expected for him to change. not for her.

not when he can so easily snap her brother's neck and she can still care. it frightens her how she always can, and always would, and probably always will. it frightens her that he might ever find out, but maybe lately it frightens her a little less. (and that's scary in and of itself, trusting in him almost as much as she trusts in what he'll do.)

she smiles too - still troubled, but grateful nonetheless. ] It all worked out for the better for you.
