[Day 229] [Voice|Closed|Action|Open] WATER BALLOON FIGHT
[It is a hot day. Sweltering and humid and for many it could feel pretty icky. It is around noon when a unfamiliar and obviously modified voice comes over the network. It sounds a little robotic, too high to be normal, but also manic, in a good way. Excited, amused.]

Anyone really fed up with the heat yet? I know I am. So here's your Declaration of War on Humidity. Park your butt on the number four and you'll get yourself a nice splash of color to cool you down.

[There is silence for some time, enough that one might even think that he disconnected. Then it comes back with a laugh.] Or you could just come over to Quatro Park and join in on the fun. [Then there is a disconnect. Someone could try to ask a question, but no responses will be given.]

[Anyone who is Sector 4 and wanders towards Qautro Park might notice that there is large bucket sitting right at the entrance. Look inside and you will see that it is filled to the brim with balloons. Water balloons.

And there are more buckets like this. Scattered all over the park, beside a bench, behind a bush, right in the open in the center of a copse of trees. They are everywhere. All of them full of balloons.

And if you don't look out you might just be hit with one of them. Oh, what's all that red covering your hair and your shirt? Whoops guess these balloons are full of colored water. It might wash out at the end of the day, but be careful now or you could end up looking like a soaked rainbow.

Do you turn back and try to escape? Are you trapped there as a victim of water balloon warfare? Or will you grab a balloon yourself and go looking for whoever just threw one at you?]

{OOC: Water balloon fight! Richie spent the morning putting it together so it's forward-dated to noon and later. Two robots will be there making up more balloons as the day goes so they won't run out for a while and another is hiding in the park to throw balloons at random passersby. The coloring in the water is completely safe and washes out with soap from clothes, skin, and hair. Not that characters will know that at first. Have your characters wander in, get dragged by a friend, become an accidental casualty, anything you want! Mingle away the heat!}

And that's not true. Bitches like cool, cocky assholes who can take down other guys. [Not that he's calling her a bitch, per se, but surely she's used to his manner of speaking by now. That's his view of the kind of guy Tyki is. Someone much cooler than him.] Regular humans are no match for someone like him.

That's not why. [She's badass enough on her own not to need Tyki, or anyone, to do it for her, and that's certainly not how she chooses who to take to bed.] Actually, it's in spite of that attitude that I enjoy his company at times. And you would be better. Tyki doesn't care about me, not as a partner should.

[She rotates the sake dish in her fingers as she speaks, somewhere between thoughtful and absently.] I've thought about why I'm with him when he's no one I could truly love -- and perhaps that's part of it. It started selflessly, me thinking I could help bring out his human side. And I can, a little. He treats me well enough. I'd trust him with myself, and to protect me from others if it came to that.

But it's this place. [She gestures widely as if to reference everything around them, the entire dome.] It's very slowly killing something inside me. A little more every day. But when I'm with him, somehow I feel like myself again. [That's the best she can explain it. It's not Tyki himself, but the goal he represents. How she strives, always, to find the best in people and bring it forward. A perhaps futile cause that she nonetheless champions.]

So let me get this straight... what you're saying is that you don't always top everything. Life has been topping you. [Sougo logic, and since he found it to be the best way to explain things.] You really are an M. But I get it. I'm only an S because life tops me too.

[He nods, then looks into his cup. A hand to his forehead with a sigh.] Man, I hate this game.

[She finds the analogy amusing, at least. And it's apt enough; she is used to essentially winning at everything, all the time. Lacus Clyne the first daughter of the PLANTs, the famous ambassador, the idol singer, the war heroine, the Chairman and leader of her colonies. The woman Kira Yamato fights for and beside.] You understand quite well, Sougo.

Would you really like it if I did? [Throw herself at him, she means. Lacus looks up at him, for once not at all playful; more like someone in searching for approval.]

[Which is a strange feeling for her, indeed. And it's not as though she'd risk their friendship over something like that, of course not. Nor would she be devastated if he said no. But knowing that someone other than Tyki would want her is... somehow important. Lacus is absolutely confident in herself, or she used to be before this place, and it's still mostly there. She only needs a little reminder now and then, even if it's from someone who would likely never act on it.]

[Besides, she's curious. What more reason does one need to ask hypothetical questions?]

Well... [He knows what his answer is, it just felt really weird that something like this would actually come up outside of his crazy sadist acts of making girls do things for him. This was a real thing.]

[He scratches his head, slightly flushed as he felt really embarrassed. He wasn't even sure why he was embarrassed, since it was such a simple question! But such a simple question that came with a lot of... feelings of being touched and actually being wanted by someone.]

Of course. I mean... I'd be an idiot to say no... No one's ever said something like that to me.

[The emotional boost that comes from his answer is more than her ego. He's being honest with her, and she loves when he is. The moment is quickly drowned out by confusion -- certainly Sougo can be difficult initially, but it makes no sense to her that no one ever would express that manner of interest.]

I should like to have a word or two with the women in your world, in that case. They're missing out on someone wonderful due to their own blindness.

Perhaps you don't spend enough time around the right kind of people. Because I think it would be very easy to fall in love with you. [Lacus leans against his shoulder in an almost protective way as she sips her sake.]

When you do find someone you care about, I hope she appreciates all you could offer her.

[He lifts up his arm, a little wobbly. He doesn't do very well with the whole alcohol thing. He then holds up a finger and tries his hardest to speak in a coherent manner.]

How could anyone feel like an important person when the person who thinks they're the most important is mackin' on some other guy? That's kinda like... [He crashes his hands together and imitates the sound of KABOOM! Drunken kaboom.]

[How much of that is the alcohol talking? Some. Maybe most. It might be more if she didn't feel like she would be somehow cheating him because Kira so recently left, and she wasn't over Neil entirely even then.]
