[Day 229] [Voice|Closed|Action|Open] WATER BALLOON FIGHT
[It is a hot day. Sweltering and humid and for many it could feel pretty icky. It is around noon when a unfamiliar and obviously modified voice comes over the network. It sounds a little robotic, too high to be normal, but also manic, in a good way. Excited, amused.]

Anyone really fed up with the heat yet? I know I am. So here's your Declaration of War on Humidity. Park your butt on the number four and you'll get yourself a nice splash of color to cool you down.

[There is silence for some time, enough that one might even think that he disconnected. Then it comes back with a laugh.] Or you could just come over to Quatro Park and join in on the fun. [Then there is a disconnect. Someone could try to ask a question, but no responses will be given.]

[Anyone who is Sector 4 and wanders towards Qautro Park might notice that there is large bucket sitting right at the entrance. Look inside and you will see that it is filled to the brim with balloons. Water balloons.

And there are more buckets like this. Scattered all over the park, beside a bench, behind a bush, right in the open in the center of a copse of trees. They are everywhere. All of them full of balloons.

And if you don't look out you might just be hit with one of them. Oh, what's all that red covering your hair and your shirt? Whoops guess these balloons are full of colored water. It might wash out at the end of the day, but be careful now or you could end up looking like a soaked rainbow.

Do you turn back and try to escape? Are you trapped there as a victim of water balloon warfare? Or will you grab a balloon yourself and go looking for whoever just threw one at you?]

{OOC: Water balloon fight! Richie spent the morning putting it together so it's forward-dated to noon and later. Two robots will be there making up more balloons as the day goes so they won't run out for a while and another is hiding in the park to throw balloons at random passersby. The coloring in the water is completely safe and washes out with soap from clothes, skin, and hair. Not that characters will know that at first. Have your characters wander in, get dragged by a friend, become an accidental casualty, anything you want! Mingle away the heat!}

[Lacus starts counting off on her fingers. It takes a few seconds.] I believe you made four or five assumptions in that one sentence.

I don't consider you to be anything like Tyki. [Except in how they both sulk like infants when they don't get what they want.] He is a source of comfort; perhaps not the wisest choice, but a quirk of this place decided for me. And needing comfort or not, I would never be with someone who only wanted that from me. [Tyki would claim that's all there is to it, but she knows better.]

Tyki is a mistake, but people have made worse mistakes out of grief. You would not be a mistake. Surely you must know that. I spoke casually because you did, and I presumed it wasn't meant seriously on either part.

[She can really pull it together for a half-drunk girl. Welcome to having a stupidly advanced brain.]

Ah. [It doesn't take an intuitive genius to figure out that he's still upset, though Lacus can't decipher exactly where it's coming from, which bothers her more than that he's annoyed. One minute he's all jokes, the next sulking like a child. But it's nothing she can't handle, just a part of him she has yet to fully grasp.]

[She stands, smoothly for a girl who's had as much to drink as she has.] Why don't you take it? I have somewhere to visit, and I'll be home later on. [A smile,] That way I won't interrupt your show.

[She doesn't even consider that this could sound very much like she's headed to see Tyki.]

[They've established how he would react to her assisting him, so Lacus doesn't, even though it goes against her every instinct. Instead she stands behind him and places her hands on his shoulders, and her forehead rests on his back.]

Whatever is bothering you, I hope sometime you'll tell me about it. There's nothing you could tell me that would make me turn away from you, ever.

But for now: if you don't want me to go, I won't. [She had only been offering him some space to calm down, and really she hasn't anyone pressing she needs to see.] And I'm sorry.

[Lacus nods against his back and squeezes his shoulders gently. (She'd hug him, but that might result in unpleasantness given the amount he drank.)] Then I suppose you'll be showing me another TV program.

[A tiny pause before she adds,] There's nothing I wouldn't do for you, if I know what it is you want.

[And then she steps back and takes his arm, not in a way of "let me help your stability" but the same way she always does. And she smiles up at him, waits for him to take the lead.]
