[Video/ Open Action] Day 223
Hey, everyone. I'm sure there are still plenty of people I haven't met yet. I'm Asami. Asami Sato. And I want to... [She actually isn't rightly sure how to preface this question, so she launches right in.]

Do you feel safe here? The Wardens aren't trying to hurt us, but there's plenty of other... stuff. [Like people trying to hurt each other.] Does it worry you?

[Asami will be spending a large chunk of the day either out wandering to see what random bits of detritus she might be able to find around the prison or at home looking to see what she can make out of it.]

[Kitty nodded.]

I guess the closest thing we have, then, is someone who can control weather. I don't know anyone that specifically uses just 'air' to do anything.

Like, all the weather?

[Now that's just weird.]

Well, all the weather near enough to her, anyway.

That's... so strange. How does it work?

Well, some people have a mutation in their DNA that gives them special abilities above and beyond normal human abilities. It's called an X-Factor gene.

What about bending? How does that work?

DNA? [Well now she's just totally confused.]

I don't know about any X-Factor genes or anything, bending just... works.

I guess that's not a thing in your world.

[Or time, but Kitty wasn't going to get into huge details like that.]

DNA is what makes us who we are. It's what gives someone blue eyes or curly hair. Like instructions to our bodies on what we should look like, sound like, can what we can do.

[She considered that for a moment.]

Can everyone do bending in your world?

Where is it? [Somewhere in the body, obviously, but she can't imagine where.]

Of course not. Only benders can.

Where? Um... well, it's all over. So, like, any part of you contains your DNA. It's really really tiny, and you can't see it without a microscope. It's all inside your skin and your organs and your blood... everywhere.

[Kitty considered that for a moment.]

Well, what makes a bender a bender?

[That sounds both confusing and all kinds of creepy.]

The ability to bend. [It's pretty fundamental to her understanding.]
