[A pause, to listen herself to the dull thumping and alarms. Noise never really bothers her, but she can see how it would agitate people who are sensitive... or have bad memories of something similar.

She finally reaches out, putting a hand on one of his tentatively]

It's bothering you? I might not be able to drown it out completely, but I can at least calm you for a bit.

	Normally, I'd suggest putting you to sleep until it's over to give your body a complete break from the stress, but with situation at hand... [She manages a weak smile before nodding. She still doesn't know why exactly noise has this effect on him, but seeing him so eager for relief makes her feel for Aidan]

Alright. I know it might be hard with the commotion, but the more you can focus on only my voice, the better this will work.

[A faint, encouraging squeeze of his hand, then she quietly sings a short verse, of strange and intelligible words or perhaps sounds, that's barely over before a suppressed warmth spreads through him. Not quite a drowsy feeling, or sluggish, but... muffled, like a great comforter has fallen over, enveloped him without smothering. The noise doesn't gradually drown out, it simply doesn't register any longer, most distant sounds won't. Being right next to him though, her voice only has a dulled quality to it, as if she's speaking through a pipe]

...Aidan?

Not at all.

[Genuinely, with an equally so smile as she gets up and lets him be after a moment. Yeah, there's a crisis going on, and people need to be herded around and secured, and force fields need to be made: all for the greater good of many, which should give it priority. But she's still glad that she was able to make things definitely a little better for even just one person]
