He's a little bit breathless when he jumps down, and looks flushed and somehow younger, probably more like he did when Rose first met him. His eyes are bright as he accepts the beer and clinks it with Rose's before taking a long swig.

"Couldn't have done it without you cheering me on like that! The success of any performance is at least half down to the audience."

He's strangely touched by her enthusiasm. He'd forgotten how completely Rose gives herself over to the people she cares about.

And Rose does care very much about Jack. She really doesn't know how to do things by half. Once she's in, she's all in and she doesn't take long to decide to jump in with both feet. She's all smiles when he jumps down from the stage.

"'Course it is," she grins, the tip of her tongue between her teeth. "Happy to see you out and about, singin' no less."

She's got a blue band on her wrist. It's fairly new and Jack can probably guess who's got the matching band.

"Well, gotta do something to pass the time, eh?" he grins, adding wickedly, "Other than Ianto, I mean!"

Then that blue band about her wrist catches his eye as she moves to tuck her hair back and he reaches out to catch her hand as it falls back down, thumb tracing the band lightly as he raises his eyes to her face, fighting down an odd numb, weightless feeling not unlike the one he had when he discovered that engagement ring on Gwen's finger right after returning to her and the rest of his team after that year of hell.

One eyebrow crooks slightly as he tries to cover it with a smile. "Something you've not been telling me, Rose?" he asks lightly. His own red wristband is mostly hidden beneath his leather wriststrap, but enough of it is peeking out to show that he's still as available as he was when they first met, even if she's - apparently - not.

She starts to laugh when he makes his joke, but it's cut short when he traces the band with his thumb. She blushes a little under the scrutiny before shrugging, trying to make it less of a deal than it is. She can't help it though, the moment her thoughts stray to the Doctor, a smile starts to spread across her face.

"Just haven't gotten 'round to it. S'still new you know." She grins at him with the tip of her tongue between her teeth before sliding her hand to his wrist, pushing his sleeve back a bit. "You got your own sorta band anyhow."

Jealousy is a dirty word, but it's what Jack's feeling right now. Jealousy of both of them, Rose for getting what he's knows he's never going to have and the Doctor for – well, it's not taking advantage like it would have been if it had happened back in the days when they were all travelling together, because Rose has grown and matured since then and he knows she's with this version of the Doctor back home already anyway so it shouldn't really be an issue, but somehow it is.

Perhaps he's not as over the Doctor as he likes to think he is.

There's no way in hell he's going to let Rose know any of that if he can help it, though, so he lets her wrist go as she goes for his instead, revealing the red band around it. "Well, I was hardly going to go without some kind of wristband for long, was I?" he asks reasonably because, honestly, she knows him. Jack likes sex, and here, he can't have it without a band of some sort.

He grins, trying to turn this into the kind of easy teasing they used to do so well. "I am hurt I wasn't invited to the ceremony, though. Did you wear white?"

It never occurs to Rose that Jack would be jealous of her because of the Doctor. It wouldn't surprise her that he wanted things to be like that with the Doctor, but it doesn't occur to her. She's more than a bit blind when it comes to him. Blind evne when it comes to Jack. She has an idea of them both and the way they all are together that she has a hard time turning away from.

"Didn't figger you would," she says it in the most teasing of tones. She smiles a little at him and nods. "Anyone I know?" She's assuming Ianto, but with Jack who knows. "Don't tell me you've gotten into Sector 6 already?"

He gives her a very, very arch look. "I'm not quite desperate enough to get into bestiality!" he says wryly. "It's just Ianto, so far. I must be losing my touch, because they just don't seem to be coming after me like they used to!"

Or maybe he just hasn't been putting himself out there as much as he used to. Having Ianto back from the dead has kept him wanting to be there with Ianto a lot more than he used to.

And yes, he knows she's blind where he's concerned, and that's fine. It's easier that way.

"Yeah, I still tend to prefer more intelligent partners, though," he asserts. "Well, unless there are tentacles. Tentacles can be fun!"

And then he sobers and gives her a soft little smile, because it means a lot that she likes Ianto. "He is. A very good bloke. I'm a lucky man."

He leans in to give her a light, somewhat belated congratulatory kiss on her temple. "And you're a lucky girl."
