We need a Sadie Hawkins. [ seemingly unprompted, but it's been on her mind for a while now. something wholesome and fun that everyone can participate in without pesky age requirements or being weary of stepping foot in a bar or a vampire-owned establishment. ] It's a dance - not as formal as prom, but there's usually a theme of some kind involved. For example, my sorority at Yale was planning on holding a Phantom themed Sadie Hawkins towards the end of the fall semester. Our theme will definitely not be anything involving Andrew Lloyd Webber. Rebekah and I will be working out those details - theme, where, when...

[ because her original vampire bestie is the obvious choice for partner in dance planning crime. ]

Another thing: the girls usually do the asking for a Sadie Hawkins. None of this misogynistic nonsense of waiting for a guy who's never going to notice you to ask you to go to the dance with him. You get to make him sweat and worry that no-one's going to ask him and he'll be forced to go stag. But, since I know not everyone is of the heterosexual persuasion here, I say interpret the tradition as it applies to you. If you're a boy who likes boys, ask a boy. You don't have to go with a girl if that's not who you are. This should be something fun for us, not anything that makes people feel uncomfortable.

[ not that elena's really in the mood for a sadie hawkins dance - or any dance, probably for awhile - but she listens dutifully to quinn's message because it's quinn, it's a fellow teammate, and caroline is going to be interested. (to drag her along, try to take over planning, to sabotage it... etc.)

but that's not what she ends up being concerned about. the mention of rebekah has elena a bit stunned for a moment. it's questionable how close they were, but this message brings the topic back to the forefront of elena's concerns. (ally or not, rebekah is... dangerous.

by association she is.) ] I didn't know you were so close with Rebekah. Do you need anymore help? [ elena is so smooth. look at that friendly, helpful face. ]

[ oh elena, if you only knew. quinn's living with not only rebekah, but klaus and kol, too. she's also being unknowingly compelled around by klaus. what started out as friendship and wanting to help her friend out has turned into a nightmare she doesn't know she's living. gurl, you in danger. ]

She's become like my best friend here. [ and she has, which makes the fact that klaus is compelling her around even more depressing. rebekah finally has an honest friend who gives a damn about her, and her brother is treating said friend like a puppet, a toy. ] And we probably will, what with me not having the Cheerios to help out. [ not that she would in college, and being a freshman would be the one stuck doing the grunt work she always made the jv girls do. ]

[ quinn won't say anything about kol, though not for reasons most would assume. she wants rebekah and niklaus to have some time with their brother before everyone else from mystic falls catches wind of his arrival. mum's the word, because she has this false image painted for her of a trio of siblings whose relationship is a lot more stable, stronger, and wholesome than it actually is. that sort of bond she doesn't have with her own sister and wants rebekah to keep with her brothers. ]

Always wanted... [ trails off. she can make a guestimation that this has something to do with rebekah's vampire-ness, but doesn't say it. her lips press into a thin, unsure line, but she doesn't say anything. quinn knows things now and it's a little awkward. ]

[ quinn knows rebekah, niklaus, and kol are original vampires. she knows that stefan, damon, and caroline are vampires and that the new girl, bonnie, is a witch. rebekah said elena was human, so the doppelgänger's still in the bag. stefan's told her about some of the horrible things rebekah and niklaus have done, but while quinn heard him, she didn't hear him. the information was acknowledge, but the part of her brain that should've had her gasping in horror somehow just didn't care. (yay compulsion!) ]

Kitty gave me the idea for something garden-y. Maybe a luau.

[ she wants to ask how elena feels about mingling with vampires, but that would be the pot calling the kettle black. ]
