So. Okay. Instead of being all "I have this friend who needs some advice" I'll just come right out and admit that stuff happened and I am sort of freaking about it. Not big-time, I guess -- well, it depends on what second you ask me. Maybe just a little big-time.

Here's the deal. I have this best friend in the world and well, he kissed me. Or I kissed him. In any case, there was a kiss. And I do not have any clue what to do because what if this ruined everything and my usual chatroom and IM venting avenues are totally blocked and there's no Dear Abby here and this is just not good in so many ways and my ability to giggle is severely impeded and --

But it could be closed if everyone would just calm down! I mean really, Tyki doesn't seem completely unreasonable -- and yeah that might be my Pollyanna talking but he totally could have killed me in like seventeen ways and he didn't.

But I can't officially be on anyone's side but Derek's because he's... Derek. He doesn't fly off the handle for no reason. I mean sure sometimes it's not a great reason but I can't believe Tyki wasn't egging him on. But either way you're right, this is stupid on every level and yet apparently Derek and Reid are wanting to like flex their muscles even when they insist that me making perfectly friendly truces is a step up from suicide and it just spells trouble to me. God, men!

Exactly. I'm sure Tyki said things, but Derek also specifically went to find him and engage him. The same thing Reid did before. [Of course Reid did it on a day without inhibitions.] The exact thing neither of them want me to do.

I was with him for months. If he wanted me dead it wouldn't have been hard. [If he wanted Reid and Derek dead that wouldn't be hard for him either. It's not exactly a comforting thought though. Wait...]

What kind of truce?

Ah -- oh, well, nothing huge. Just that he offered to leave Reid alone if I went out with him. To dinner. And I think that's a better option than just waiting for more bad to happen between all these men who are trying to display their manly feathers for reasons unknown! I mean really, how am I supposed to watch them all being neanderthals and not try to stop it?

...you're not gonna tell Reid about this either, right? Because I haven't done it yet, I just... I don't know.

[She sighs. Yes, tired was very much the right word for things involving Tyki. Why did she have this strange extended family involved in what still felt just like her business. Reminded of something she doesn't answer Garcia directly. Not yet. Story time.]

Tyki used to have his niece here. Road. She had a crush on a boy from their world. He was a good guy. [Another Pollyanna maybe.] He wasn't interested in dating her. They were enemies from home, but he did on the condition that she'd promise not to hurt anyone.

[Yeah, that gets her a look. And maybe, just maybe, the tiniest flare of jealousy.] Because it doesn't.

I'm not going to say she massacred everyone because of it either or anything, but it's part of her nature to destroy and she did eventually go after the exorcists again. I don't think they can really control it even if they want to. Not completely.

Thing is, I think [she wants to believe] everyone who isn't an exorcist is safe if they just stop picking fights with him. But no amount of asking him to play nice is going to make a difference forever. [She's pretty sure he cared...cares about her, but it didn't stop him from going after Allen or crucifying Cross.]

Maybe not forever, but honestly, I'll take temporary fixes right now if it involves less choking and whatever-happened-to-Reid of my two favorite boys. If you saw how completely freaked Derek was after -- I just can't sit back and let that happen, I can't. And then they were thinking about drugging Tyki or locking him up or... or I don't even know, but it didn't sound like backing off.

Maybe a deal won't be a permanent fix but if maybe if things cool down for a while both sides will get -- distracted by shinier macho things. Or something.

I promised the boys I'd stay away if they do. That's the best deal anyone's gonna get out of me.

Look, I'm not all eager to put myself in the line of fire or something. I much prefer to huddle in my computer room and not get within ten miles of anything more dangerous than internet trolls. But I can't just do nothing and watch the person I love most get the hell beat out of him and know that he was probably milliseconds from getting his insides put on the outside! [Pardon her tearing up, but Derek being hurt is just not a world view she cares to embrace.]

Her main concern is what the over-protectiveness of the others will do if she puts herself in "harm's way." She's thinking they'll be lucky to just take a few hits.]

Hey, it's okay. No one is turning anyone inside out. You know how many people Tyki has killed in the almost six months we've been here, exorcists included?

[That is strangely comforting (even if she understands he's been damn close) and Garcia swipes at the few tears she let loose, willing herself not to get too upset.] Yeah, okay. You're right. And Rebecca told me she knows a guy who can keep him in line, so I guess there's that.

Now I just have to figure out how to keep my boys on the straight and narrow. It's been almost ten years of them being basically cowboys but sure, maybe there's something I haven't thought of...
