[Activity : April]

1. Activity check!
Next to the link to your tag, there are three links for you to fill in. This is for you to go and find threads that you have tagged eight times or more. This is not the total count of comments in the thread; only the comments that you made. That means that the other person also has to have tagged back seven/eight times.

Issue the first: Threads are not finalized until the 7th. That means that if you don't have three qualifying threads, you still have a week to get that activity. You can put the links down that you'll be focusing on and ask people if you need them to tag on dropped threads.

Issue the second: If you don't have three threads of qualifying length, your activity is low. Even if you tagged eighty posts, if you didn't have a medium-length conversation in three of them, you don't have enough activity. You may justify why your activity has been spotty, but don't expect much leniency.

Issue the third: All three threads must be on separate posts. Untagged activity does not count toward your activity check. Icon spam counts as one comment.

Comment here with one of these filled out for every character you play.

The purpose of the summary is to remind people what your character has been up to, so that any thoughts about your characterization will come back to them. Be detailed, but not tl;dr. It defeats the point if it's too long to read, or too short to jog memories. We will inform you if your summary isn't sufficient.

All characters who were in the game in April must respond to the activity check, unless you are on total hiatus for the week of the AC.


2. How's my driving?
Respond to other people's comments! Tell them if you think their characterization is right, wrong, just slightly off the mark; tell them if you think they as a player need to work on something, IC or OOC. You don't have to know someone's canon to give them valuable feedback.

Everyone is required to be open to concrit to play here! The mods will take steps if someone is not responding well to crit, provided you can document it.

Anon comments are enabled, IP addresses are not tracked.

Hello Mariners. Marinalings? Marinaters?

I'm Redd and I'm a newbie to the game and Insane Journal as a whole. I've roleplayed before, and rather frequently, but never in this capacity. So you'll kind of have to excuse me if I derp around a while trying to figure things out and gawk at your foreign, fandomy terms. I know everyone must go through the phase of being fresh meat, so here I am. I'm pre-tenderized, but unmarinated. My style of writing tends to be slow-cooked, as a general warning ahead of time. I can't always promise you fillet mignon, but I do try to make my posts well-done and seasoned. To that end, I invite you to taste-test and critique my flavor so that I can know whether to bring the beef or cut the broth. You can even roast me- I promise not to simmer. I'm fairly friendly and am fond of flavorful people. Feel free to email, IM, or PM me here. I'll probably respond to messages here the fastest. But enough of my ham-handed introduction!

I'm playing Sherlock Holmes from BBC's adaptation, "Sherlock". It is a modernized version of the crime-solving adventures of the dynamic duo, Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson. If you love the books, you should definitely see the new series! I am a big fan of the books myself, so I'll be taking some of their aspects into account as well.

Sherlock is very strange young man who bases his life on solving strange crimes in London. He's extremely astute but also extremely... eccentric, shall we say? This particular icon is of him, in the morgue, with a riding crop, beating a corpse to see what sort of bruising forms (he wants to gauge if a wound was made before or after death). I don't honestly think I'm going to be able to use it anywhere else. He doesn't subscribe to normalcy or standards beyond his own, which simply entail getting a case solved in the most interesting manner possible. He's a grown man, but he's sort of got this bratty teenager, do-what-I-want thing, dramatic flair going on that gets him into a lot of trouble. While ultimately he does do some pretty great things, solving crimes and bringing others to justice, he tends to be a danger to himself and others as he kind of dives headfirst into everything like a bloodhound going after a scent. Sherlock kind of expects the world to fall around him and meet his needs, which is why I find it interesting and plausible for him to be in Marina.

Howdy! I'm Bill. New to insanejournal RP, but not to journal RP in general.

I'm bringing in Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt from the Gaunt's Ghosts series of Warhammer 40k Novels.

Gaunt is a very honorable sort of fellow, brave, and something of an old-fashioned man by the standards of the Imperium. He's going to be pretty bitter and sarcastic about his present situation, but that's hardly unusual for him. He's just a badarse normal human with a sweet energy sword, stealth skills, and one heck of an ability to inspire other people to acts of selfless heroism. If you're looking for a drinking and swordplay bro, look no further.

My (nick)name is Candy and I'm playing Rossamund Bookchild! Who is from an obscure canon called Monster Blood Tattoo (or... The Foundling's Tale, depending on the version of the books you own...), which has no fandom to speak of, as far as I can tell ;_; I'm taking him from the end of the last book, right before the last chapter/epilogue.

I'm not exactly new here - I used to play Kaguya Sumeragi from Code Geass, as some of you may remember. Also Kagura from Inuyasha, and very briefly Rock Lee from Naruto. I ran out of inspiration/time and stopped playing for awhile, but I never really stopped following the game, because I love this game with the strength of a thousand suns. /Creep
