The blood on his hands was still wet when he woke up.
He'd been so close, one victory obtained and well on his way to another, when everything had suddenly changed. He wasn't on the bridge anymore, and despite how much he'd fought, the people in this new place he'd arrived in had somehow managed to overpower him.
But now he was awake, in a completely different place. He might've reflected on how familiar the train station looked, right down to how people were dressed, or worried about the blood still on his hands, if it wasn't for one, singular thought that was surging through him.
Why did he feel so weak? It was like something had been taken from him, ripped away, and he'd been left with this wholly alien feeling of physical vulnerability. Oh, he'd been vulnerable before, he wasn't invincible, after all, but not like this. He didn't really have anything to compare it to; was this how ordinary people felt? And more importantly, how did he make it stop?
He wandered out into the centre of the train station, ignoring the people, until he stopped to look down at the bangle attached to his arm. Maybe that was it? A drug of some sort, perhaps? He clasped at it with other hand, trying to pull it off, but it wouldn't budge. And the action only confirmed how weak he felt.
Panic wasn't something that he was prone to, and now would be no exception to that. He just had to figure out where he was, and how to get back. He looked at his hands again, at the blood he'd smeared on the bangle. Best to find somewhere to clean them first, then, before he started asking people questions.
