Who: Myka Bering and Claudia Donovan
What: Girl-Sister time.
When: Saturday Evening
Where: Helena's sitting room (Because lets face it she never spends time in her own room)
Rating/Warnings: The usual with Myka and Claudia...so nothing.
Status: Closed, Ongoing

Her nightmares had only become more frequent but she'd learned how to not wake Helena in the process. Myka wasn't sure where the urge to ask to move in had come from. No sooner had she asked than did she regret the action. It was too soon. Sure, they'd talked about most of Helena's past but the two of them had carefully avoided addressing the issues lurking in the back of their minds. Though Myka loved Helena and knew that she always would, a part of her could never accept the deeds she'd done against them.

Helena's past had been accepted from the moment that the Victorian woman had sacrificed herself to save them all. But the actions that had been taken and the betrayal after her debronzing were still fresh wounds. They had driven Myka away from the Warehouse and she still didn't understand why the older woman had done it. Having never had a child and then losing said child in such a brutal manner was a pain she couldn't understand until experienced. Seeing what it had done to Helena, Myka hoped that she never was introduced to such an event.

Claudia always knew what to say. It was an odd thing that the junior agent with a profound destiny knew how to handle the problems of them all. She knew just what each of them needed for certain situations and tried to make herself available. The fiery spirit was one that Myka loved and found amusing. Claudia was very much another sister for her. So, when the going got tough, Myka had turned to the one place that she knew she could count on. Pete had been sent home and there was still an emptiness there that couldn't be filled. Part of her hoped that he would be brought back because the future he was returning to was not a great one. When, Claudia had brought up a movie night, Myka had begun to think of what movies they could watch. The library was full of an endless supply and variety that it was hard to choose.

As she stood in the library, Myka looked at the selection and then sighed. It was too hard to decide on anything in particular. Spotting the original Star Wars trilogy as she passed over one of the shelves. Myka grabbed them and turned to leave the library. If Claudia decided that she wanted to watch something else they could go down together and choose. But for now at least they'd have something in the room for when she stopped by for girl-sister time. Once back inside, Helena's room, she sent a quick text off to the junior agent reminding her that they'd be in Helena's room, and then picked up Grappler and sat her on the bed in Helena's room. Both the elder and younger had been gone all day and the cat would be starved for attention. Attention that Myka was not willing to give and she doubted Claudia would either. Laying down on the couch she sat staring at the floor awaiting Claudia's arrival.

Claudia stopped by the kitchen before going to H.G.'s room to meet up with Myka. She had a bowl of popcorn under one arm and two sodas tucked into the other. The sodas were from her own stash, the popcorn from the kitchen. No matter what movie or movies Myka had chosen, some snackage was essential.

So long as it wasn't a sappy movie fest or a Castle marathon, Claudia would be good with Myka's choice. She had been clicking around on her computer and realized that the guy who "played" Todd had been on an episode of Castle, after which she had started to watch it. It had been evident from the first two minutes on the screen that "Todd" had done it. The rest of the characters were nervous, twitchy. He had been calm, talked in a calm and soothing tone and - then she had turned it off.

After that, Claudia had all the more desire to focus on something else. Myka was like her older sister and the scheduled girl time sounded great. It was with that mentality - the mentality of someone who wanted to kick back and relax - that she knocked on the door and waited for Myka to let her in. With full arms, she couldn't quite reach up to get the door. Knocking was another matter, since it just required slight bending and use of wrist.

Myka had begun to doze when the knock came at the door. Sitting up there was a moment where she was unsure who was knocking at Helena's door. When her mind cleared, Myka remembered that Claudia was coming by for their evening of girl-sister time. Standing she walked over to the door and opened it her eyebrow instantly arching. The sight of Claudia with popcorn and two sodas tucked into her arms a hilarious sight. The young agent was taking this evening seriously.

Moving aside Myka gestured for Claudia to enter into the sitting room and relieve her hands of the burden. With a teasing tone in her voice, Myka said, "You forgot the twizzlers, Claud," and then shut the door. Hearing the kitten meowing at the door and the tell tale sound of claw marks, Myka groaned. Grappler wouldn't give up with her protesting if she was forced to stay inside Helena's room.

Leaning back against the door to the room she debated her next course of action. Myka could leave the door shut and just turn the volume up on the tv as they watch their movies. Or she could deal with the consequences and let Grappler roam free. Helena might throw a fit that her cat was locked up so pushing her body off the door she walked over and let her out.

As she stood there the kitten looked up at her as if to say, "now, pick me up" to which Myka let out a glare before reaching down and picking up the kitten. She was going to regret doing this in Claudia's presence. Turning back around she walked over to the couch and sat down with the kitten on her lap. "So, Star Wars Original Trilogy?"

Claudia had been about to take a piece of popcorn and throw it at Myka in response to the teasing when the meowing and scratching, then Myka's groaning, interrupted. Claudia went over to sit on the couch instead and simply sat there, watching.

The techie's nose crinkled up in unspoken amusement and glee when Myka came back with the kitten in her lap. It was likely rather obvious that Claudia was having the worst time not squeeing out about Myka and her obvious not-hatred of the kitten and the kitten's obvious not-hate of Myka. H.G. and Myka were, both, secret cat liking people. There was no denying it.

"Sounds primo." She sat the popcorn on the table, out of the reach of small kittens, and sat the two sodas next to Myka on the couch. Considering they were still closed, she didn't figure that would be so big of a deal. "I can put the DVD in and you can start talking. Spill."

Talking. It had been why she'd wanted Claudia to spend some time with her but she was still wary of actually discussing everything. Talking about what was bothering her meant that she had to actually accept that something was bothering her. Even if everyone around her could see that she wasn't her usual self. Motioning to the dvd's sitting on the edge of the table, Myka said in confirmation to the suggestion, "You do that and I'll start talking." The question was where should she start?

Myka could start with her persistent nightmares of the Warehouse explosion. Or the fears that someone else that she held close to her heart would be gone one morning. She was still feeling the pain of having Minerva and her younger self sent home. And not too long after that Pete had been sent back to a future that was so dreadful. Myka could start with how there were parts of Helena that she'd never be able to fully accept. And how that could potentially affect their relationship in the long run. Or the sudden marriage proposal that happened whilst she was sick. They hadn't brought that up since it had happened but Myka knew it was in the back of their minds. And lastly whether or not they should move in with one another.

"Where should I start, Claudia?" Myka asked. It would be far easier if the younger woman helped guide her. Deep down she knew relationship talk was not the girls forte but they knew each other. And at most Claudia's need for answers and asking questions would move things along.

"Uhmmm." Claudia paused at that question, literally, standing there with the DVD case in her hand for a moment while she thought over the question Myka had posed. Claudia didn't know all of the details and it was hard to pick one specific "thing," as a result. But she had sat through enough psychiatric evaluations and sessions to have an idea spring to mind.

"What one thing, when you think about it, makes you level 10 on a scale of 1-10 upset? Nauseated, don't want to think about it, avoidance needed. If there's not a 10, give me the next highest number and start there?" She suggested before moving to pop the DVD into the player. It was easier to tackle the big subject because, in the midst of it, there would be all the attempts to deviate to avoid it. And, if Myka didn't deviate, it would still seem easier to tackle a 6 or the like after hitting on the 10.
