We all have lives - some more mundane and normal. Some, literally filled with gods and demons and fae and more. We have people who fight for their lives, for those who might not land on the good side of the line all the time. We have people here who are not used to sitting on their laurels every day.
Life goes on, but we’re not always ready for it to be normal.
There’s no group here to help adjust, or find outlets. There are amazing gyms, places to throw axes at things, places to go work on archery. But does everyone know about them? Have we ever had a place to sit down and go “This sucks” together??
I didn’t think so.
So I’d like to announce a new project, started in part due to my conversation with Alfred the other night., I think we need a group for this. Combat Therapy, to bring people together to continue harder, more focused training and maybe offer to teach others down the road, how to actually fight in a real situation? I’ve already cleared it to host meetings, with food obviously, at the Settlement, on a tract of land off to the side. We can commiserate about things being more normal and not knowing how to really live. Some of us have hard pasts, tough starts, and more - this place would be for those people. No judgement, good, bad whatever gets checked at the door.
I was wondering - what things from home do you miss the most about training? Something more challenging (though, even I admit, I love the courses at Terrain)? Who here has ideas that we can implement? Anything we can build?
I was thinking we could do meetings, food, then plan training exercises regularly so people can form relationships here around that common ground. I noticed a lot of us cling to those we know - I know I do - but there’s so many skills here…
I’ve been told this place can be a nightmare, throwing things that are dangerous at us, and it was a little wacky this week. What if we were better coordinated?
