I realize that since I came back, I've been a bit off my game. Trying to save face is getting exhausting, and while I was adamant about not sharing things with the friends I have back in L.A., it probably won't fly here.
In fact, I know it won't. It's what happens when your friends with people who tend to have the same thought process as you do.
I've told some of you bits and pieces about what happened back home after I left. Different parts to different people. Yadda yadda.
There was another huge battle between sides. It was worse than the one that happened before, and there were a lot of folks that I see here every day that I had to fight against. There were even more that ended up critically injured, or worse.
The war broke out over an Inhuman who essentially a precog. His first few visions did actually help others battle off threats. Carol Danvers thought it would be beneficial to use Ulysses' visions to proactively keep the peace. Tony didn't think that was such a great idea, and admittedly? I agreed with him. He made a good point. You can't go around arresting and locking up people based on a power that none of us really understood.
It really blew up from there.
Clint was put on trial for Dr. Banner's murder after Ulysses had a vision of the Hulk killing everyone. It wasn't Clint's fault, though. Bruce had asked him to do that should he lose control of himself. If it hadn't been for Carol pushing his buttons? He would have been alright. I think he would have been alright, and I think Tony and Steve did, too.
The people who sided with Carol? If you really want to know, I'll tell you. The people who sided with Tony? I can tell you that, too, if you want to know, but I was one of them, and I wouldn't change my mind about my decision.
The last I saw of Tony, he was one of the ones in critical condition because of Carol.
Dr. Strange teleported us out of the busted up Triskellion, and Hank McCoy was taking care of Tony. So, he's in good hands. He's one of the X-Men who isn't a complete douchebag.
I left for L.A. again after that. Maybe it was crappy of me to just turn and get away from it, but it was the better thing to do. I had my Dad to hunt down because, surprise! He's still a giant douchebag.
With newly-found super powers. The bad kind. The persuasive I-Can-Make-You-Do-What-I-Tell-You kind. The kind that is totally not cool to use on your daughter who you're already having issues with.
His LMD clone was younger than my Dad should have been. Apparently he is - was? - sick. Terminal illness sick. So he "fixed" that. And was behind all the crap I had been handling through Hawkeye Investigations. Mind control drugs, crazy mutant clone things, angry mobs, missing people, stalkers, dragons, assassinations...etc. etc. etc.
I know you all have a lot of things you're dealing with regarding all that insanity in that other world, and dumping this onto that? I feel like the crappiest friend in the world, but I needed you to know in case I'm just...not Kate.

So, would you be looking for someone to give cello lessons in your fine establishment of music?

Gotta thank Marina for taking care of the gash on my forehead. The lack of headaches makes everything else feel a little better.
So this is...week two? End of week one?
I need to make one of those paper chains. Or a calendar countdown. Or one of those Advent calendars where I give myself a treat every day for being a good patient.
