What?

What right does she or anyone have to judge our world?

Not judging your world, Miss Potter. She doesn't like people who think they're inherently superior to others.

She would definitely dislike my boyfriend, then. He's from one of the purest pureblood families back home and that's how he was raised. It's how things are in our world and there's no reason to hate us for how things are at home and how we've been taught.

Yeah, because asking for human decency and dignity is a bad thing. Equality, who wants that?

This couldn't be America or anything.

Pureblood families that I know aren't against human decency and dignity. Everyone at home is still trying to honor equality. But unless someone blatantly attacks you or is rude to you, then why dislike them on the basis of their upbringing.

Orphan. I don't know about bloodlines. Also the Masons are adopted too, so who gives a shit about 'bloodlines?'

I read the books too, and the Blacks aren't exactly pro-equality, are they?

My father was an orphan and he

Books?

The Blacks I knew about or heard stories about were. My father's godfather died protecting him and he was a well-known Black.

Yeah, Sirius. He was here for a bit, cool kid. These two are his grand.. relatives.

And they're assholes. See for yourself http://asylums.insanejournal.com/madisonvalley/117711.html?thread=4276175#t4276175

I don't know how to make it do link things so sue me.

Excuse me? What exactly was there in my exchanging pleasantries with Mr Cartamandua-Celestine to deserve such a vile epithet, Mr Dresden?

Look kid, you're cute and sweet and it makes people want to squeeze you. But I also see through your crap, so don't try to pull it with me.

You and your brother are assholes, very passive assholes but assholes anyway. Georgia called him on it and neither of you liked it.

Except be a bigot. I'm American and we take the whole 'equality' thing pretty seriously. Also I'm not a nice person.

And yet the very worst of my bigotry, apparently, amounts to my introducing myself to a nice pureblood gentleman recently arrived to this town.

It's interesting that you'd describe yourself that way.

Absolutely no right. I was nothing but polite and civil to her and now I fear she dislikes me terribly simply because of who my family happen to be. It's hardly right.

You're incredibly polite and I don't believe I've ever seen you lose your temper on the network with anyone. I don't think it's fair to judge you by how things are in our world.

Thank you, that's awfully kind of you to say. I think it's important to try to stay calm even when you're feeling quite irate, and while I'm not perfect, I do try.

Georgia Mason has medical knowledge, doesn't she, and we all value that. Only she went so far as to state publicly that if my brother fell ill, she'd let him die. Now I'm willing to take that for hyperbole, I don't take it for a true reflection, but it says something about her attitude, doesn't it?

I'm not as good at it as I try to be, either. As Elodin is so kindly pointing out.

However, I think that no matter the circumstances, I'd be quite put out if someone said that about either of my brothers. No matter if I always get on with James or not, I'd be very upset if someone said they'd let him die in any circumstance.

You're trying, though. You don't strike me as an angry person, Lily Luna.

I was awfully upset by it, yes. Pollux is all I have here and to have someone say such things, even if not in any serious way? It troubled me.

I'm not usually. This whole ban and people being scared of magic users are trying to take things away has made me feel pretty angry.

I would have been troubled, too.

Yes, it made me feel amused that they thought they could ban it disappointed, too. Muggles are going to be scared of us, I suppose. The Statute of Secrecy is as much for their protection as it is for ours.

She's an intelligent person, but not a very kind one, I don't think.

Do you think this could have been avoided if some people hadn't been so open with the fact that they did have powers? Or do you think someone would have slipped up and it would become an issue?

I'm not entirely sure. I attempted to keep the fact of my magic secret when I arrived here, but as Pollux had already went over to local custom and revealed his, mine wasn't a secret for long, our bloodline being what it is.

Personally, I'd have been more comfortable keeping it from the muggles, like at home, but we're long past the point of no return on that now.

And that's not even limited to muggles, much as I wish I didn't have to say it. Do you see how Mr Dresden's speaking to me? It's so awfully discourteous.

There was no reason to resort to name-calling, absolutely none. I saw nothing in that exchange that he linked me to that says anything bad about you.
