Who: Crowley and Penny Kirkman
What: Black Friday Madness
When: Black Friday
Where: Target
Warnings: Possible Language
Status: Closed/ongoing

Crowley hadn't planned on going out today, and not even to a department store. Except that the whisk attachment for his mixer broke, and he needed it to properly whip up a meringue. And one couldn't make a lemon meringue pie without a properly whipped meringue.

Which was how he found himself at Target today. Where he found not only his attachment but that it was a proper madhouse. Hell hadn't been this bad just before the boys broke open the gates. So it was with fond amusement, he was watching people be absolute animals over the littlest items, even things that weren't on sale.

He was in the middle of smacking someone away from his whisk when he heard someone cursing at people and some punching happening, and it sounded like a rather young lady. A glance down an aisle had him blasting away a lady from a young girl, clutching desperately at something.

"You okay there, poppet, or are you going to jump back into the fray?"

"I think I'm just gonna watch people get stupid for a little bit," Penny said, shooting a glare down the aisle. "If that woman doesn't end up getting a broken nose by the end of the day I'm gonna be so surprised."

Penny had kinda been tempted to it herself, honestly, because accosting a teenage girl like that? Not cool. Not cool at all.

"Thanks for getting rid of her, though."

"Well, she earned those broken ribs I gave her, though with the insanity going on, she probably won't feel them for a while." Because Crowley hadn't exactly pulled his punches with that one.

"I am doing the same if you want to join me at my watching spot." No one had yet bothered his throne of coke cases, but it might be the mild hex he'd put on the area.

"That sounds awesome." Because Penny was a sneaky little thing like that. She was perfectly happy to sit there and watch people, and possibly scout out whatever else she wanted.

She'd probably just stand up on top of the entire display because safety, what safety?

"Come along then," he told her. "And if you see something interesting in a cart, let me know and I'll zap it over for you."

Yes, it was an actual throne made out of 24 pack cases of Coca-Cola, and strangely enough, people were giving it a wide berth.

"Up you go, and if anyone gets through the barrier, give them a swift kick." Which would be in the face if she was going to stand on the display.

"Will do." She grinned as she clambered up on the display. "You know, I like you."

Yes, this was probably a concerning declaration to make considering who she was talking to, but whatever. Penny was friends with a girl whose mother was dating Lucifer. She'd accept pretty much anyone and everyone unless they hurt the people who mattered to her.

So, there you had it, a teenage girl standing on a display of Coca-Cola cases. Still probably the most normal thing anybody would see in the store all day.

There was something about the girl that reminded him of Sabrina, which was probably why he was being so polite to her at the moment.

"Just be careful who you say that to, pet. There are some people that might get a bit concerned for you." Like, well, anyone from his world.

Penny was clearly not very impressed by that. She'd inherited her father's unimpressed face, as a matter of fact, and that was the expression she wore.

"There are probably worse people I could like, even here."

Oh, sweet sweet child.

Crowley thought about that as he flicked a cart into two brawlers, sending them tumbling into a display of Christmas bears.

"Yes, there really are a few who are worse than me." Maybe two, but not many.
