A drabble in celebration of Severus' birthday. :D
Title: At Long Last
Word Count: 100
"I fail to see what is so celebratory about being a year closer to the inevitable," Severus grumbled morosely to himself. He tried not to think about the fact that no one cared enough to even offer the inane wish to him anymore; he counted himself lucky that no one was actively trying to kill him.
A knock on his door brought him up short, and opening it revealed Lupin. Werewolf, fellow survivor, long-time object of fascination, carrying a bottle of good Scotch and wearing a green bow on his head. "Happy Birthday, Severus," he said.
For once, it was.
