Oh no. No, no, no. Where was it? Where was it?! This just couldn't be happening. Why did she have to drop it? Thank goodness it wasn't her phone this time, but it was something else she just couldn't do without, and she couldn't believe that she'd lost it. People who had best friends couldn't go around dropping lockets with pictures of them inside. She had checked the places she frequented, but it wasn't in her car, her bed, the bathroom, or in the couch. Adelle hadn't worn it at all today, and the last time she could remember wearing it was. Fu--
The tiny siren dove into the bag, flung the damn dress on the floor. The necklace tumbled out too. She'd gotten dressed in her car that night so the other clothes were in her hamper. She shook out the dress, then peered into the bag again. If it wasn't here, there was only two other places it could be. When she'd changed in the store, she had a clear memory of putting the locket into the bag, so that was easily ruled out. The other place... Walking from the room, the brunette failed to see the glimmer of silver from a locket just slightly under her bed.
Adelle grabbed the bag she had taken with her earlier and left the apartment after flicking off all the lights. Roxy and Fina didn't know she had the locket, and it was the one thing she wore under her clothing. She thought that they would make fun of her for it, because who had BFF necklaces nowadays? She glided through the night toward the house that wasn't too far from Roxy's which reinforced the fact that she could probably be seen coming to and from the house, nobody else around was driving a G37, and she was sure that if the Diaz family saw her they would instantly know. Especially after her freak out about being bitten, she didn't need anybody finding out that yeah, she was going back into the house of the vampire that had bitten her the night before.
Adelle was out of the car and knocking on the door so fast that she had to look back to see just far she'd gotten from the car without realizing it. Being lost in her thoughts was no way to be around a vampire. She could get drained if she turned her neck in a daydream Whisper saw fit to latch one. But if it was like before, she'd wait, she'd probably give her that feeling again, wait for her to ask for it. Darkness turned to light as the door opened before the siren and she snapped out of her thoughts.
