Rabbit in your headlights
Who: Brogan and Ross
When: 9am
Where: Scarlet Oaks Mental Institution
It was not secret at the museum about what happened to Ross' family a few weeks ago. And they knew that even though he still came into work with a smile on his face there was something wrong. Ross tried his best to be optimistic, especially with the Giacometti exhibit that was up. Such a successful exhibit. It made Ross proud, even though he tried to hold back the tears each day. He wanted to sit down in his home and try to go back and see what happened that night, if anything to know he was there in someway for his wife and kids before they died. Then he remembered Lanni pleading to him to never use his powers on his family after the Light of May. With them gone, did it matter? It probably shouldn't have, but it did enough to hold Ross back from ever using his reading abilities to check.
Trying to decide if he should or shouldn't ate away at him to the point that his boss confronted him after work one day and suggested he see a psychologist. Ross simply smiled at first and said he didn't need one, but the dominating stare and overwhelming emotions quickly made him submit. He was given the name and number of someone who worked over at the mental institution. Someone by the name of Brogan Callahan. The thought of going back to a mental institution brought up horrible memories from when he was a kid, though Ross convinced himself it would be far more different.
He made an early morning appointment that Saturday and arrived wearing jeans and a tshirt. Ross kept himself mildly entertained with the magazines lying around, sipping on his coffee on and off while he waited. Eventually a secretary came out, calling for Ross. She showed him to Brogan's room. Or office. Whatever it was, it didn't matter. Ross poked his head instead, a bit timid to say the least.
"Mr. Callahan?"
