Ross had clearly already accepted that his ability was part of who he was, though he wasn't embracing it in a healthy manner. Ross saw it as something to be ashamed of - which wasn't really fair to himself. Of course, if Brogan said this it would be like the pot calling the kettle black. It wasn't like he particularly enjoyed or embraced fully being a werewolf.
"Don't tell someone just to say it," Brogan advised. "And trust me, telling anyone is life changing. You've lived through it once. And they knew you. You couldn't imagine the sort of reaction you'd get from people you barely knew." Some people out there didn't like those with abilities at all.
