If there's one thing I've learned, you'll always get burned
Who: Simon and Lux (and Simon's familiar Charmander, NPC)
Where: Cosmic Comics
When: Early afternoon
This was the first time since opening Cosmic Comics when Simon could remember actually closing the place for this long. Even in the wake of the vampire bullshit a little while back, he'd closed the shop for the night, but left it open during the day, in spite of the lack of business. Now it had actually been closed for a full three days, and there was a bunch of shipment to put away, not to mention paperwork and other crap. He could have called someone in to help, but he knew at least some of his employees, Frances included, were still healing up, and didn't want to push anyone into working before they were ready. Granted, it wasn't like Simon himself was quite up to par, seeing as he was probably not supposed to lifting things with his injured ribs, but he was not sitting around his apartment another day. Well... he could. He did have enough weed. But if he couldn't go get his daughter until Friday, then fuck it, to work it was.
Cue Lux texting him. His door was always open to her and while Simon was still figuring out how he felt about his two best friends hooking up, nothing was ever going to change that. He just didn't want to end up being the perpetual third wheel now, if only because he knew how shitty his current love life was, thank you very much. If Lux didn't want to talk about that, then Simon didn't know what was up, but that wouldn't stop him from being there regardless. Seriously, he'd known her for how long now? It wasn't like anything she had to tell him was going to make him flinch. Right now the only company Simon had was Charmander, the salamander hanging out on one of the shelves behind the cash register. Whatcha doin'?
Simon rolled his eyes. "Working." He reached up to poke his familiar in the belly. "I'd make you help if you had thumbs."
I'm too little to do anything. I win! There was a knock at the front door, and Simon glanced up to see Lux waiting. Oh yay! Company!
At least Charmander was easily entertained... and didn't take it personally whenever Simon laughed at his name, which was often. Unlocking the door, Simon waved Lux in. "Come on in, it's shitty out there."
