The mixer was very well chaperoned, hosted at the hotel by Ms. Sheedy. There was a piano player for music, a buffet against one wall. There were tables for eating and talking, and a space set aside for dancing. Under Ms. Sheedy's beady eye.

Some of the Beloveds at the hotel had arrived early to help set up the room so even by the time it officially 'opened' at 6 pm there was a bit of a crowd of unmarried people.

"Allowed yourself?" she frowned slightly.

Edward laughed softly and squeezed her hand. "Not like that, darling," he promised gently. "I have just always preferred cooking in the comfort of my own kitchen. I sometimes would rather stay pike that than get out. "It's an awful habit."

"Well, maybe we can find you somewhere you can have your own kitchen, would that appeal to you?"

"That really would," he said with a slow smile. "I just don't know how that would be possible."

"Perhaps a tea house or cafe? Would that appeal? Or did you have something else in mind?" The whys and wherefores didn't concern her too much.

"A cafe maybe," he said, laughing. "There would be more variety."

"And how many staff would you see working at such a venture?"

Edward shrugged. "Oh gosh, I don't know. Just a couple, I suppose. To help with serving and things."

Edward glanced over. "What do you mean?"

"In the kitchen?" she 'explained'.

"Ah," Edward said. "Well, it depends on how big? I mean, I can usually get by, but I do like having one or two people helping."

Edward let out a small laugh. "But, I mean, it's not like something like that just drops out of nowhere," he said. "I should really try some of the restaurants here in LeChance."

And if Delilah had anything to do with it, it'd be more than chance that would help get Edward his own kitchen. "Now shall we eat, love?"

He blushed as the laughed and nodded, letting go of her hand so that it was actually possible.

She smiled at him, and chuckled with him. Taking a sandwich from her plate, she started to eat. "And tell me, have you been getting more out and about generally?" she asked eventually.
