Fate worked in funny ways, sometimes. Everything that could have gone wrong before their vacation to Costa Rica had gone wrong, right from the start; first trying to pin down a date to go, then trying to figure out who was and wasn't going, then fighting to make sure they all got on the right plane... It was like the world was deadset against them getting to Costa Rica, and it would fell mountains to keep them from reaching their goal.
Well, okay. Maybe the world didn't take out a mountain this time, but it sure as fuck wasn't going to let them get to Costa Rica. From the moment the Captain's voice came on the intercom, calm despite the impending disaster, Puck realized maybe he and his friends shouldn't have fought so hard to get on Flight 1388. There would've been another plane, another time, another vacation... Now, there was no guarantee any of them were going to see another day. Puck's mouth was grim when he looked at the ex-girlfriend sitting next to him, then beyond her to the sexy blonde who'd had those gummy worms.
But when the turbulence really started to get bad, the oxygen masks dropped, and his stomach started telling him they were going down, it was Titania that Puck craned his head to find.
The crash itself was too terrible to dwell on, and the aftermath wasn't much better: a crush of panicked people surging for the emergency exits, barely contained by a flight crew struggling to maintain order. Puck was part of that crush, and once he found Amelia he had more reason to panic than most. She wasn't waking up. He carried Amelia off the plane himself and found a patch of shade to gently put her down in.
"I have to find help," Puck said to Brianna tensely. Besides Amelia, she was the only one he'd been able to keep track of since the crash. "I have to - I've got to find..." he turned in a circle, torn between the familial duties of looking for his sister and cousin and the moral duties of taking care of a fallen friend.
