Okay.

1) HOW did the TARDIS and the Doctor get separated? How did the Doctor get to a different universe without the TARDIS? Were they abducted? Was there a malfunction?

2) WHEN did this happen?

3) Does the TARDIS have a LOG of where and when she's been? We could try to retrace her steps, or at least avoid searching the same place twice.

Let's do this thing.

[added later]

4) WHO could we ask?

She was able to communicate that she's looking for her Doctor. She must be able to communicate with someone.

[...]

I might be able to communicate with her if I had my deck!

It might be a longshot, but I'll check Monmouth. Perhaps it's not the only thing she endowed from home.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

But seriously, nothing? No one has any of these answers? People have been here for months! What have they been doing?

Are you actually surprised that those in power here have chosen the "on a need-to-know basis" route of dealing with things?

As for the TARDIS herself, the Doctor doesn't appear to be the only one being rescued.

If they want our help, sharing some information with us is going to be necessary.

You're thinking about Fred Weasley?

It might be worth considering that our help begins and ends at the TARDIS going to our worlds to look.

And those like him, yes.

Then picking us up is pointless.

Except for those who die.

This shit is pointless and claustrophobic.

It wouldn't have to be if they told us what was up!

The royal they! The people who originally found out why we were picked up!

They don't know either. They're all looking "over the data".

Politician speak for, "shut up and stop expecting us to do anything." If you squint, there is an infinitesimal amount of comfort to be found in some things never changing.

You'd end up leaving it empty anyway.

Just the thought is enough, thank you.

Though now you've got me curious. If you were to make a single book, what would you make it about?

The best stories can't possibly stick on pages.

Are there things in your world that can never come to be?
