Kismet, U.S.A. is an AU Heroes & Villains role-playing game set in the fictional city of Kismet, located in the center of the United States. Established in 1882 by west moving settlers, this once peaceful city was named after the settlers' belief in karma: whatever you do comes back to you. For years, citizens of this city coexisted peacefully; crime rates were extremely low, leading citizens to believe they didn't need a large police force.

When the mob moved into Kismet, they took advantage of the lack of authorties; within a matter of years, Kismet turned sour, and without a police force to handle a sudden explosion of crime, the city crippled under corruption and greed. Criminals began flocking to the city in hopes of using their stealth and talents to make a name for themselves; with the criminals came the vigilantes who hoped to redeem Kismet and return it back to being the tranquil place that it once was.

Today, Kismet exists suspended within a constant battle of good versus evil.

Who will prevail?

The asylum is large. You can feel it as soon as you open your eyes in the darkness of whatever room you've been assigned. However only a bit of it is open at the moment. Just a small taste of things to come. Don't worry. There are plenty of things to do. And you won't be staying here very long. No, The Powers That Be have all manner of things in store for you. Different worlds to explore. Some will be fun. Some will be horrific. Then you'll come back to the asylum.

Which isn't exactly a peach. She's haunted, you see. Or possessed. Whatever it is, there are monsters in the dark corners. Evil things hiding in the shadows. There are rooms you should never enter and no matter how hard you try, you can never find a door leading outside. Sure you can look out the windows. Each one will show a different landscape outside and different times of the day too.

But you can't leave.

DARK ASYLUM IS A HORROR/SURVIVAL RPG. IT IS A THREAD-BASED, OC FOCUSED BUT PANFANDOM WELCOME GAME. TRAPPED IN A LARGE, HAUNTED ASYLUM WITH STRANGERS, YOU MUST LEARN TO SURVIVE WHATEVER THE POWERS THAT BE DECIDE TO TOSS IN YOUR DIRECTION. LARGE PLOTS ARE LED BY MODS BUT PLAYERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO BE AS CREATIVE AS THEY WISH TO BE WITH SMALLER PLOTS. GET LOST IN THE DARK, FIGHT MONSTERS, HAVE FUN.
