Sometimes the world you create on the page seems more friendly and alive than the world you actually live in.

Since the dawn of time, storytellers have enchanted audiences with their words. But there is an even rarer gift. There are those who, by reading out loud, can bring characters to life. Out of books and into our world. Most of these people prefer to keep their skills a secret but some do not even know this gift is theirs, until it is too late.

You know how your story begins, do you know how it ends?
Have you ever invested weeks, months, or perhaps years into character development only for a game to suddenly lose interest? For things to go awry and you choose to part ways? Are you sitting in a game that you've lost interest in simply because you don't wish to lose all that character development?

If you answered yes to any of these questions then Spinning Compass is for you!

We at Spinning Compass allow character development from any game. From Insane Journal? Approved! From Live Journal? Approved! From Dreamwidth? Approved! It doesn't matter what journal format they come from, your character will be approved!

We also accept Original Characters, and any canon fandom characters.

Character approval pending application acceptability.

Books are adventure! They contain murder and mayhem and passion. They love anyone who opens them.

You open your eyes and find you are in a stately room with fine trappings and thick stone walls. You look outside and you can see- is that a dragon circling high in the sky above?! Are you looking out on the grounds of a medieval castle? And, yet, is that a sprawling, modern city you see in the distance? You search your room for any clue as to how you arrived in… where are you? All you find is a scroll inviting you to enjoy your stay in the Land of Make Believe. And that's when things get odd...

Hallowed Times has been open and active since September of 2012. Just some of the big events that you've missed include:

• A Halloween Fair with a controversial Haunted Maze
• The First Round of Internships where students partied with Rockstars, did a lot of paperwork and got fired for the first time.
• A Yule Dance that included a roving bunch of mistletoe.
• A New Years Eve House Party that got a little out of hand.

Upcoming:
• A Valentines Day Date Auction, come on girls, pony up for those blokes!
• The Second Round of Internships, more madness one bit of paperwork at a time
• The Official Hogwarts Open House, come see the Weird Sisters!
• QUIDDITCH! It's Qudditch, need we say more?

[info]hallowed_times is an eighth year epilogue compliant game that follows the students back to Hogwarts for one final year of schooling where they are given the chance to relive being 'just students' before having to go out in to the world to become adults. The game includes overreaching plot, but also includes social interaction and the rebuilding of Hogwarts and the Wizarding World. Eighth year students have special allowances that include access to special education opportunities as well as the freedom to work jobs off Hogwarts Grounds on the weekends.

We are a non flashy game that focuses on the enjoyment of writing characters with added elements of plot.
