Summary: Lily is leery of doors.
Status: Complete
Most of the morning had been normal. She'd woken up just before her alarm and turned it off before it could wake up Balthazar. She kissed his cheek before easing out of bed, watching as he shifted his position and kept right on sleeping. A little smile played over her lips as she just ... watched him for a moment before she turned away.
She did notice as she started toward the bathroom that she had a slight headache, and ... well, it was the start of a new week, so they'd likely done something. At least Balthazar was still here; that was all that she truly cared about just then. She eased into the bathroom to wash up for the morning, though she had a terribly odd feeling when crossing through the doorway. Like ... the door was going to suddenly slam closed on her, or smash her fingers or ... something.
While she tried to shake it off, the feeling lingered, then grew slightly. The door wasn't just after her fingers. It was after her.
Lily swallowed hard before hurrying through her morning routine to get down to breakfast.
She did hesitate at the doorway to the room though. The door was blocking her path. She had to ... open the door. Which meant touching the door. She wiped her hands off on her jeans and she glanced back to the bed. Balthazar could open the door if he was awake, but she didn't want to wake him up.
Trembling a little, Lily stepped closer to the door ... and realized she probably didn't have to touch it, if her magic worked, right? Slipped her wand out of her pocket, she swished it toward the door, which swung open. Lily dashed through it before using her wand to close it gently behind herself. Shuddering softly, she was very suddenly aware of all the doors lining the hallway ... and she was glad she was in a hallway that had fewer doors.
Naturally, she bypassed the elevator and instead took the stairs down to the kitchen. There were archways here, but no real doors ... except those on the refrigerators. But, she had a wand and she had no problem using it. Now though, she was very, very curious to see if anyone else was waking up with a strange fear of ... anything. If it remained this low-key, Lily was certain she could manage her requisite week. Somehow though, she doubted it would stay this light all week long.
She'd just have to ... endure, and hope Balthazar didn't wake up with some fear of ... well, anything. Or that Jaime didn't. Really, she didn't want anyone else stuck with anything like this, but rarely was one person alone singled out.
Lily sighed heavily as she set about making breakfast, trying to plot a course of action that involved the least amount of doors. Maybe she'd ... take to camping out in the lobby. Or outside. Maybe a tent door wouldn't frighten her so badly ...
