Lizzy had opened her mouth to ask Lily to clarify when she just said it was doors, and closed it when Lily did. Her expression revealed more than she meant it to in terms of what she thought about being afraid of doors. She certainly didn't think it was very sane.
"...No..." she said finally when Lily asked her if she had woken up randomly afraid of anything weird this morning. As an afterthought, she moved to close the door to the fridge. She looked at Lily again to see if that made a difference.
She was suddenly struck by the strangest temptation to pull the door open and closed and watch the reaction, and her eyes sparkled a bit with the idea. But she made herself not do it. Lily hadn't done anything to deserve it. It was a tough sell, though. She was curious.
"Are you afraid of them when they're closed?" Lizzy asked curiously instead. "Or just when they're open?"
