Lily remained where she was, closing her eyes as she sank down to sit on the floor. She hugged her knees to her chest, resting her cheek against them. She clutched her wands and drew several slow breaths as she attempted to calm herself down. At least the child had stopped ... whatever she was doing, and the doors were closed.
She could hear Lizzy eating, and reasoned it wouldn't be long before the girl was gone from the kitchen or someone else came in. She ... would just wait it out.
Or have a heart attack. Whichever.
Though even as she thought that, huddled in the corner, she was aware of the fear abating slightly, of her heart slowing, of herself calming down.
