WHO: Rae and Silas
WHAT: Stir-crazy Rae wants an hour or so of fresh air.
WHERE: The skating rink.
WHEN: January 12th, 2020 ;; 3:00pm
RATING: Medium for Silas' mouth.
There were many reasons that Rae was the absolute worst sick person ever to exist, but one of them was her refusal to wait until she was well again to get fresh air. Obviously, she still couldn't see EJ, which tore her apart more than she was willing to show (even though she had the sneaking suspicion that Topher had caught on), but she was starting to get stir crazy being stuck in her bedroom. Stir craziness allowed her thoughts to wander, which made her even stir crazier. Cabin fever was starting to set in. She needed fresh air, and a little wide open space, soon. Before she lost it completely. Before Topher even told her that he'd be showing up—ten minutes before, actually—she bundled up in her winter wear. Leggings under her jeans, her puffy jacket and extra thick socks, gloves, hat, scarf, and finally, her boots. Her plan was to accost him as soon as he got to the door, plead with him to indulge her cabin fever and join her on the skating rink like they'd talked about however long ago. And that was exactly what she did. Once she saw him coming, she stood and walked up to the door, stuffing the small plastic container of tissues into her pocket and the bag of cough drops into the other. She stood in front of the door and put a smile on her face when she saw it opening. The type of smile he couldn't say no to. Rae looked up at him with her expression showing exactly how much she needed to get out of this room. Confining spaces had been her downfall for the longest time, and right then, the bedroom felt like little more than a prison cell. Which was a stroke of irony, because it was one of the only non-cell rooms in the prison. “Hey you,” she greeted him with a little wave. “Let's go skating,” she said simply, her congestion making it sound a little strange, but no less insistent. |
