Warnings: The epilogue doesn't exist for me so this is EWE. There is mention of numerous character deaths and slight gore. There is also foul language, mentions of drug and alcohol use, Potter bashing (extensive), plots to take over the world... in other words, it is a Slytherin fic. ;)
Summary/Card interpretation: Crushing defeat brought about by idle intellectualism divorced from reality. (Which is portrayed by the end of the war with Voldemort and The Battle of Hogwarts.) Sadness and desolation in the aftermath of a catastrophic and total collapse. (Greg, specifically, how he deals with the end of the war, and the loss of loved ones.) A decisive conclusion brought about through the swift and merciless application of overwhelming force. (The aftermath of the war and what is necessary in order to preserve as much of the Wizarding World as possible.) This card also gives us a glimpse of hope. ;)
Greg and Tracey dealing with the aftermath of the final battle, to include the loss of one of their best friends and the total destruction of their world.
A/N: Greg and Tracey call each other Val and Maeve, nicknames from childhood. According to the Lexicon, the Goyle family is likely from Northern Ireland and I've gone with that supposition when I write Greg. Also, there is frequent references to The Little Prince as according to the 'canon' ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) jandjsalmon and I have created when writing this pairing, it was their favourite book growing up. A big thank you for the hand holding and Beta goes to jandjsalmon!

My apologies for this being a touch late, apparently be relaxing and thinking I had plenty of time, whilst making me more relaxed about the art, made me fail about the timing!

I see the closeness they've developed preparing Snape's defence, whilst being individuals due to backgrounds, despite their similarities.

Card Interpretation: The usual symbol for this card is a heart, pierced by three swords. Reversed, however, it may refer to a release from sorrow or depression. I've slightly twisted the meaning, Harry's sorrow was that he couldn't be part of Draco and Snape's relationship, k? Also Ravenna mentioned to me she sees Slytherins as swords, which I can certainly see, and I associate Harry with the Sword of Gryffindor, hence their are three swords in the picture!

Card Interpretation: condensed version - a clearly 'unpredictable turn of events' followed by some 'unfaithfulness' to, well, the war, and the opposing sides, and probably a few lovers, and ending with the very Malfoy position of 'knowing that you will be victorious'.
Author Notes: This story almost never made it. The original fic grew too big to finish, and this one just didn't want to be written in the veryshort time frame I gave myself for it. A huge thanks to my beta, Cazz, who basically poked me in the shoulder until I wrote the damn thing - it's an odd story, I know, but it's here! I get points for that, surely.

Summary: Draco gets married and learns a few things about Lucius.
Cards Drawn:Hermit, 10 of Pentacles, and the Tower. Exploding cards were 3 of cups, ace of pentacles, 10 of pentacles reversed, 6 of swords, ace of wands reversed, king of cups reversed, and the star .
Card Interpretation: The Hermit signified someone at a crossroads, someone trying to figure out who they were, and also how to be part of a greater whole after being alone. The knight of pentacles was everyone coming together, success within your grasp. And the Tower was the doom that could befall you if you failed to pay attention to the lessons of your past. The exploding cards became images and characters.

The Afterword:
I struggled quite a bit with how to connect three very distinct parts in a thematic whole, as well as how to incorporate the exploding cards into the fic. Two of them were fairly obvious. The Ten of Pentacles became Abraxas, and the Star was Narcissa. For the rest, I ended up trying to incorporate their images either into various characters or just referencing the images themselves. The 3 of cups became the merfolk-themed engagement party, the reversed King of Cups became Lucius' lust for power, and the Six of Swords became Harry Potter and his grief and anger over Ginny's betrayal. The Ace of Pentacles was a bit more difficult, and ended up becoming Lucius' ability to use his money to get what he wants
