RP: Savannah/Kirley
Who: Lilu!Savannah/Albus!Kirley
When: April 2
Where: in his room
What: Oh we all know that weird conversations are happening

Savannah didn't have a job yet and apparently neither did Kirley. Besides, it was Friday and everyone seems to be up in arms about the missing people. They were trying all sorts of things and it wasn't working, but that meant that they weren't paying attention about regular jobs.

She decided that she would spend the morning with her brother. Sitting on his bed, she looked at him. "So ... lunch number three today. I can't believe we're doing that, but how are you dealing with it? With all of it? Parvati and Draco, the grandparents, being stuck here."

"It's uh it's a lot." Kirley was sitting with his back against the headboard, knees drawn up to his chest to make enough room for Savannah to sprawl about. "I'm uh glad you're here." It hadn't felt right without her, and thinking about how his little sister was dead had been something he'd avoided whenever possible. "The lunches uh they're fine. Weird. To uh to have Parvati want to be around us. Sober."

He did grin a little at the mention of Parvati and Scorpius though. "You uh you should talk to Roxanne. She's got uh this entire tragic love story about the two of them. Going to uh write a novel." Well, Roxanne might have been joking about that, but Kirley was sure she could handle it.

"How uh how are you doing with all this?"

"Of course you're glad I'm here because I'm amazing and I can liven up any situation, although this is pretty dire. It's boredom central. Like how are we supposed to have fun? Not even the journals. She's being unreasonable." She was still adjusting to that part herself. "Now we get two grandparents too. So much hugging. It's worse than the Burrow. At least there, it's just Gran." And Gran didn't really hug Kirley, they all knew that.

Savannah giggled. "Oh, I need to speak to Roxanne and hear all about this tragic love story. I was telling Albus how the papers and journals would have had this as their top story for years."

She stopped to think, because she wanted to give Kirley the truth. Her brother deserved that much. "I... don't know. Everyone is dead. I never had the chance to do anything, but we're back already and I'm my age and I can still have a life, does that make sense?"

"I uh don't mind that so much. It's the people who get to me. There's so much hugging. I don't uh know why so many people want to hug us." It seemed like he had to dodge hugs daily now; that used to just be a Burrow thing. "Do you think if Parvati had grown up with the new grandparents she would uh have hugged us more?" He couldn't fathom that idea of his mother, but having met the younger Parvati he wasn't sure anymore.

The giggle was contagious, and Al joined in. "It's filled with broken hearts and accidental pregnancies and and you know. That kind of thing. It would definitely be a best-seller in our time." Hell, it would probably still be a best-seller. Somehow he doubted fascination with The Girl Who Lived had died completely over the last eight years, and if it had there would certainly be a resurgence as their return become public knowledge within the international community.

"I'd just figured out what uh what I wanted to do really, and now I I can't do that. So. I know. What you're feeling. Kind of."

"Apparently because they are our grandparents and grandparents will hug you regardless of how old they are" she said, laughing. "And maybe. I don't know. They seem happy to have children. Parvati never really seemed happy to have us. I don't know. Maybe. Maybe if he had us with Scorpius and not with Dad."

She sighed. "Maybe Roxanne is onto something. Parvati does seem happier doesn't she? She doesn't smell like alcohol." Savannah sighed. "It can't be easy for Albus. I know we're joking about it, but we're saying that she was stuck in a marriage she hates because she got pregnant with him. Imagine living with that realization."

Savannah stretched to pat his leg. "I'm sure you'll find something to do and so will I, because we're awesome. Remember that."

"Still. I could, you know, do without the hugging." He paused, considered it, and since it was Savannah he decided it was all right to admit one thing. "Regulus' aren't terrible." Regulus had a quieter energy than his other grandfather, and Kirley appreciated that. "Maybe Scorpius would have been around more than Dad was. He uh he loved his dragons more than us, and Parvati had her alcohol and the Aurors."

He wasn't surprised that Savannah was as into the idea of the tragic love story as Roxanne was. "That's uh one of the weirder things. Not not smelling alcohol when we talk to her." Kirley still hadn't gotten used to it. "You know Albus. He'll uh he'll go about as normal and make sure that we're okay." Their older brother took that role extremely seriously.

"Right. Awesome. Not sure what use new spells will be in this society, but sure. I'll find something." His sister's full-steam ahead could be tiring from time to time, but he appreciated it anyway.

"Good luck with that," Savannah said, chuckling before squeezing Kirley's leg. "That's good. Stick with him, then and it'll prevent others from touching you. Think like a Slytherin." She snorted. "It's not like it's humanly possible to be around less than Dad was, but Roxanne always loved her father."

She shrugged. "Maybe without the pregnancy and the marriage, she won't drink as much. She'll never become as bad as Mum. It won't help us, but it'll help her." She knew her brother too well and Kirley was right. "One day he'll end up turning into her, so careful with staying in control. You have to find a way to let go."

She sat up, crossed legged in front of her. "Are you kidding me? We have to build a whole new society. I'm sure that we'll need a lot of new spells. Maybe not the first week or the first month, but eventually there will be more than Hogwarts. You know I'm right."

"Maybe I'll uh see about brewing some Felix Felicis. Use it to avoid hugs for a day." It wasn't a bad idea if the ingredients could be found. He hadn't brewed it since school. "I'll ask Regulus for help. He was known for being good at potions." Kirley laughed because it was true. "It sucks that he's you know, dead, but he'd hate it here. No dragons."

He wondered if that was true, or if the pressure of being Minister would get to her anyway. "I guess we'll see. Maybe. Might be nice to have, you know, a happy Parvati." He didn't really have any memories of their mother being truly happy, at least not without her also being truly drunk.

"Yeah. Maybe. But uh look where the last set of new spells got us. Everyone dead and those that aren't pulled through time." He made a face at her. "You think you're always right. Bloody uh bloody stubborn Gryffindor."

Savannah chuckled. "Most people would want to brew it to get hugs." Leave it to her brother to do things in reverse. "I'm sure he'll be so happy to help as soon as you tell him that you're trying to avoid hugs from his husband." She got quiet, because until now she'd made a point not to think about the fact that their father was dead. "Maybe he'll arrive here. Even if he'd hate it."

She nodded. "It will be nice. Maybe, she'll shock us and we'll want her to call her Mum and actually like her." Now that would be a shock all around, but hey, Gryffindors always fought for a brighter future.

She smacked his leg. "Unless you're trying to find spells that get us all pregnant, we'll be fine." She grinned. "Of course, I'm always right. Anyway, we should probably get ready for that lunch. We can see if she'll show up or there will be an emergency. We might have to start a bet to see how soon it'll all end."

"Yet another way I'm different," he said, but without any of his usual self-deprecation. Avoiding hugs was something even his siblings could understand. "Well, maybe we'll keep that part between us." Al looked away, guilt creeping in for even bringing their Dad up. "I uh yeah. Maybe. People keep showing up, right? Might be him."

Al couldn't help the incredulous snort at that. "Maybe. Weirder things have happened, I guess." He wondered what it would be like to have a mother they actually liked, as well as loved, but couldn't quite get his brain around the idea. The Slytherin in him was looking for all the ways it would go wrong.

"Yeah, uh, I don't think I'll be doing that." He sighed, then nodded. "We'll need Al for that. No fun in betting with just the two of us. We can grab him before lunch and see about those bets."
