Savannah rolled her eyes. "Albus couldn't even if he wanted to. Again, I'm better than him and I suck. You can do it really well, since you're ego is as big as this castle and yet, not even the biggest one around." She shook her head, because it was ridiculous. "We can just say that most men are egoist, self-centred and immature and then we don't have to narrow it down by family," she said with a sweet smile.

"So the conclusion is that they would have been murdered not by dark wizards, but by a group of agents and players. The players would have done it straight on the pitch with enough bludgers to the head." No one fucked with Quidditch, not even the Boy Who Lived. "No one wants to give up the livestyle because of a person who has that lifestyle."

Savannah shook her head. "No, I don't think that's actually true," she said with a frown. "He is fine with communication. It's the press that's bothering him. Right now it's the lack of communication that's the problem, because it's not right." And that was what it boiled down to. "They have a strong sense of right and wrong, no shades in there at all." Jamie might have been called the poster child for Gryffindor, but he was nothing like these people. "And Scorpius is taking over for now. I want to show him how to do it better, how to assign rooms and clothes, otherwise we'll run out of things. I was already worried about it before, and really, I should be running this Ministry."

Jamie just laughed. What else was he going to do? Deny it? He wasn't that much of a hypocrite. Jamie knew he was good, knew what he was good at, and saw no reason to hide that. In fact, with his family, shouting it from the Astronomy Tower was often the only way to react because otherwise someone was going to wonder what was wrong, what you were hiding. "Sure, we can say that if that works for you," he agreed easily after a moment. Why not?

"Sounds about right." He could see it, actually. That was the scary part. And neither his father or his aunt would understand why no one else wanted to do things their way. It was like trying to explain to Harry that he had a legacy. He just couldn't understand it. "And they'd probably still get some kind of state funeral out of it."

It was Jamie's turn to shake his head. "No, he gets that communication is necessary, but he doesn't understand the way it works. I tried talking to him about strategy and unified messages and got a blank stare." He snorted softly. "Because of exactly that." Sometimes he thought his dad had decided that since he'd saved the world (or at least Britain), he got to tell them what was right and what wasn't and couldn't understand when someone didn't agree with his assessment. "Maybe you should. All of Aunt Hermione's organizational skill and better people skills than all of them together. But, maybe Scorpius can coordinate with Remus and Regulus and the cataloguing to make sure we aren't running out? I have a feeling that even if they give the day-to-day over to the elves to handle like Harry asked, they'll still have their fingers in the work, since they started it for their own purposes, not just to follow Harry's lead in looking for clues." He hadn't really had a chance to talk extensively with Regulus, yet, but he'd talked to Remus early on and seen the quiet determination there.

"We can say that because it's true," Savannah pointed out. "And they can't see themselves following a woman as easily as a man. Look at how easily everyone accepted your father as the Minister. I bet it wouldn't have been as easy if it had been the Girl Who Lived."

Savannah chuckled. "I mean the entire Quidditch world would have shown up and turned it into an Irish funeral, with enough alcohol to drown Ireland, so basically your typical party."

She smiled. "He gets that communication is necessary for him to tell others what's right and what's wrong," she teased. "Honestly, though it's more than that. He literally thinks that people should do what's right always and cannot comprehend why self-interest might make people behave differently. He makes me look selfish." She hooked her arm with his. "Your aunt is as neurotic as the rest of them. It's not organizational skills if you're working 24/7. That's just killing yourself, and don't get me started with handing the job to the house-elves. That can work on clothes, but how about pictures, jewellery, things of sentimental value. I'm hoping to convince your father to let Scorpius do it and then Remus and Regulus can work with him when they aren't busy. It's not like Scorpius will have much to do when people aren't arriving. Besides the spa-"

She shook her head. "So my father and Scorpius aren't happy with the club. They want to open some sort of spa as well. We'll see how that goes."

"Harry would probably tell you that it's because no one else wanted the job." Jamie felt obligated to point that out, even though he was sure it had more to do with being The Chosen One and, unfortunately, Savannah was probably correct...especially with the number of people from the older generations who were there. "Not that I think you're wrong. Although," he added with a grin, "I am glad you changed your mind about playing and let me play on your team."

Talking about his dad and alcohol was a sure-fire way to torch Jamie's mood, so he focused on the easy part of the conversation...politics.

"You laugh, but I'm sure that's true." Savannah had always been uncannily able to read people and she wasn't off now. "I don't know that I'd call his version selfless, though. He hates being The Chosen One, but he also doesn't know what to do if he's not fighting and sacrificing for the greater good. I don't know if Harry's as far gone as my dad was in our time. But, I think he did it as much for himself and to feel like he was in the right as he did for actually caring about the people he wanted to 'save'." Sometimes, he thought it was more for himself, Harry, than anyone else. He chuckled at her reaction to the cataloguing. "I think Remus, at least, is of a similar mind. I haven't talked to Regulus, but I think your way works better. I think Remus' words were 'has your father ever tried to read a house elf's attempts at spelling?'"

Jamie snorted. "I was surprised they were being allowed the club. A spa? Trying to figure out why it's a good idea might break Harry's brain. On the other hand, being Al's best friend means Scorpius might know enough about our father to know how to explain it to Harry...maybe."

"Okay that will never fail to freak me for some reason, you calling him Harry and not what he said, because that part is pure bullshit and we both know it." She smiled at the second part. "What can I say? I'm a nice person and this is nice."

Savannah shrugged. "I know I'm right, but laughing is better than crying or hexing. Jamie, love, I'm not into all that psychology thing that Cho and others talk about it, but it's not really surprising that he feels that way. He was a child who grew up fighting. You can't go back from that. I don't think he can live like a normal person, because he doesn't know what normal is, and this won't help, because now there's a new set of strange circumstances, and he doesn't really have anyone around him to show him what's normal." She frowned. "You talk about what he does or doesn't do, but how are you with this? You aren't a child anymore. You're older than him and watching him go down that ready. It can't be easy, but you can help him."

She snorted. "I'm not even sure that he understands what he wants the house-elves to do. It's too vague a job for him. He focuses on how many cloaks and robes we have." Savannah knew that it was much more than that, though. "And I've been talking to my dad. I suggested that maybe they should start with dropping the word spa. Call it a pool with a sauna, which is really what it would be. It could be for exercise since we don't have any other form of exercise. It's something that the students could use. It improves everyone's athletic abilities, and I think Scorpius needs to stop being so in awe of your father. I might call him 'Mr. Potter', but I can also tell him how wrong he is. Politely."

Jamie laughed softly. "I call my grandfather, James, too," he pointed out just because he could. "And, yes, you are a very nice person." He might be as emotionally stunted as the rest of his family, but he knew enough to know that she really didn't have to be nice to him, extenuating circumstances like death and resurrection by castle or not.

Speaking of emotionally stunted. How was he supposed to answer? Did she really want to hear about the tangle of things in his head every time he dealt with Harry? Did he even want to tell her about how weird it was to try separating the twenty-two year old in front of him from the forty-eight year old Jamie knew? Especially when the twenty-two year old sounded just like the bitter drunk he had become? "I'm...working my head around it, still," he said at last. "I need to separate the two, Harry and Dad, to do that. He's my dad. I'm not supposed to be older than he is." He wasn't supposed to be the adult. And maybe that was the problem. That ship had sailed and he was never going to get to just be Harry's son, the way his dad hadn't let him be, either. "I just need to get my bearings and figure out how to do this, that's all. It's only been a couple weeks. Some Potters don't expect miracles in that amount of time."

It was much easier to focus on the practicalities. "Scorpius wouldn't be the first to get caught up in the legend and miss the truth of the man." Jamie was actually impressed that Savannah seemed able to do so, her 'Mr. Potter' not withstanding. "Pitching it to him like exercise, training, it probably a good idea, though. Practical things make sense to him, ways to help fight whatever fight he fears is coming."

"Yes, but that doesn't feel as strange. I don't know why," she said with a shrug. "Maybe because he was dead long before you were born, while your father- he's your father." She smiled. "Thank you, I appreciate it."

She probably was too nice, because her first instinct was to hug him tight, without saying anything, before pulling back and hooking their arms together once more. "Jamie, I'm going to say this in the nicest way, but you sound like him. You're coming up with a battle plan on how to deal with things, how to solve the problem, how to push all the nonsense aside and get to your goal, but you can't really 'solve' this one problem unless you let your heart take over. I mean what you say is logical, very logical, but here's where things fly out the window. No matter how old he is, no matter what he's supposed to do or not to do, he's still your father and you can't separate the two like they are different people, because so much of who your father was is part of this Harry Potter and your feelings for your father will always colour the way you see this version. Maybe instead of working so hard to separate the two, you need to figure out a way to blend them."

She shrugged. "I might have too, back when we were together. For me, it was more than the Chosen One, but your father and why couldn't I meet him as your girlfriend, but even then I could see how he affected your action. The hero lost some of the shine."

Jamie accepted the hug, but sighed when she began to speak after. He knew she was right. But, well, he was the one of the three siblings who was the most like their father. He knew that, too. And wasn't proud of it. "My heart isn't ready to accept that I'm older than my father." He was always going to have to be the adult, now. He didn't get to be the child. His father was actually younger now, the one needing guidance he had never been able to give Jamie. He was going to have to act more like his father and pretend he didn't have desires of his own in order to do what was right. "I honestly don't know if I can do this if I let them blend. There's too much baggage there, Savannah, baggage this Harry Potter hasn't earned the weight of, yet."

Sighing, he put his hand over hers where it rested in the crook of his arm. "And now you've met him and seen more of how he affects me." Whether Jamie had wanted it or not. Except for Al, Savannah was the only one who actually knew him there. It was going to happen. One corner of his mouth quirked. "Being his secretary is enough to take all the rest of the shine right off. Or, so I've been told."
