Parvati wanted to believe her sister. It would have been therapeutic, but the truth was that she could never be sure. No one could. "I know that, but that was the reason why we wanted all future ministers to be briefed. The DoM kept the prophecies and they would have been responsible. The problem is that even if they did, you can never know if knowing about the prophecy influenced their actions."

She sighed again, as she let go. "The hug does make me feel better," she said with a tiny smile. Padma couldn't give her assurances, but her support always helped. "But yes, it's why I despise telling people about real prophecies, big ones. You never know what causes what. The ones about spilled coffee-." She shrugged. "Even if people mess things up, at worse there's spilled coffee."

She squeezed Padma's hand. "So what do we do now? More importantly how do we manage to make this government run when Harry is in charge? Bless him, he'll never back down from a fight, but minister? What's everyone thinking?"

"As long as the coffee's not spilled on your new white silk," Padma teased, feeling a little better now that she was seeing a bit of a smile from her sister.

The snort that followed was perhaps the most inelegant sound she had ever made. "'Oh, no! We're in trouble! Here comes Harry Potter to save us!' I'm sure it was something along those lines." She was sure most anyone in their year found the mythology and legend society had built up around Harry, even in just the last six years, to be laughable. They all remembered too much the trouble he'd gotten into and that he was never alone in any of it. But, the world had a funny way of looking at things.

"I suppose the first thing we do is figure out what's actually going on. Harry's the Minister, so Ron and Hermione will be advising him, no matter what their official role is. But, we need to find out what they're actually doing in their attempts to 'fix' things. And hope they aren't meddling where they shouldn't." The thing about working in the Department of Mysteries was that people who couldn't share outside their department loved to share stories with fresh meat whenever they could and Padma had heard some stories that cleared up a lot of questions that had been left at the end of their fifth year. If she hadn't been sworn to secrecy, she still would never have had the heart to tell her sister what had happened to a lot of prophecies stored by the department.

"Then you deserve it. No one should wear something as boring as white silk," she answered, chuckling. "I wonder what fashion is like in 2038. It's probably great. We need magazines. Lavender would appreciate the importance of it all."

She covered her mouth, trying not to laugh. "I think we need a second holiday in his name. One can't possibly be enough, especially now that he's the Boy Who Returned From the Dead to Become The Youngest Minister Ever. Think it's a bit too long?"

Parvati rolled her eyes. "You know I like them, right? I really do, but Neville was always more of a leader, pulling everyone together. Those three are terrible leaders. But right, let's not destroy the world completely by trying to fix it. Then we find Firenze. Or at least I owl him. The Centaurs were never really happy that he was teaching me their ways. I don't know what has happened in this twenty-four years."

"We can't both look like we just stepped off a magazine cover," Padma retorted with a grin. "It'd just be even harder to tell us apart." She wouldn't argue the need for magazines, though. She wanted to get her hands on publications of her own, journals for research and to find out what new magic had been discovered, what questions had been answered...what had gone wrong here.

Okay, and maybe to look for new shoes, not that she'd admit that to her sister.

She hummed thoughtfully. "It is a bit of a mouthful. But, accurate," she agreed after a moment. "Harry Potter Affirmation Day, celebrated on the say he was appointed Youngest Minister for Magic in History...after History had to reset."

Padma shrugged one shoulder. "You're not wrong. Liking them doesn't mean we turn sycophantic like the rest of the world." Taking a deep breath, she let it out slowly and squared her shoulders. "So, we need to make sure they don't burn the world while trying to save it. But, we can try to contact Firenze first thing tomorrow. It would be good for you to get in touch with him and good for all of us to get an outside perspective on what wizards did to themselves. And maybe see what the centaurs have done with this part of the world in our absence."

"Of course we can. Confusing people is half the fun," she said with a giggle. "How am I supposed to do that when you want to wear a boring white silk blouse?" She shook her head. "I don't know what I have to do to show you the importance of the right colour," she said with a deep sigh, but they both knew that she was joking.

"We'll have to find some way to shorten it, maybe a nickname... Oh I know, let's just use Harry for that." People who didn't know him would find their teasing blasphemous, but they knew him. "Oh, I like that one. We'll have to propose it as a new bank holiday. We all deserve more bank holidays when coming back after the end of time."

She knew that Padma didn't have the same relationship with those three. Anyone not in Gryffindor wouldn't have seen them day in and day out, ignoring everyone else in there. She was pretty sure that Hermione didn't even know the other people in her class. Still even Padma knew how dangerous they could be. "Right, more important things first, like rooms to sleep. Do you want to take over the Gryffindor tower or should we go somewhere else? I know it's day here but I was ready to snuggle in my bed already. This will be worse than travelling to America for that conference on magical auras in Muggle cities."

"So, this isn't the time I should point out that the only clothes we have are the ones we're wearing?" Padma asked with a sweetness that was belied by the quirk of her lips. "At least I didn't wear the white silk blouse to dinner?"

Snickering, she nodded. "A bank holiday is a must, I think. We should go over and tell him. It'll be like a reverse welcoming gift." Teasing about Harry was all well and good. People who weren't former members of the D.A. couldn't understand it. But, mostly, Padma was just happy to see her sister looking stronger than she had a few minutes ago. Something insane had happened. They were going to need each other to get through this...whatever this turned out to be.

"What do we think the chances are those three have taken over Gryffindor tower already?" Padma had always found that particular trio to be rather the opposite of restful. She liked them well enough, but she'd been very happy to be away in Ravenclaw tower. "What about the Divination room in the tower? No one goes up there, so no one will disturb us and there were all the cushions we can transfigure into beds." It made sense people would be drawn to their old houses and who knew who all these people were or who they would find where?

"Oh I knew that the moment I asked about magazines. We'll end up redoing our entire wardrobe and I finally get to tell you what's fashionable, because you won't bother with today's fashion until you're done with lots of other things," she said, smiling. And this was why she needed her sister with her. Together, they could make everything better. "Sweet Salazar, that would have been terrible."

She chuckled. "I think we can wait a few days, make him think that we are nice and sweet and we'll play along like everyone else, and then we hit him with the bank holiday and the name for said holiday."

"I guess we'll have to see if there's anyone there. Sybil had her rooms up there, near the classroom and the office," Parvati said. "I had tea there more times than I can count. "Maybe we should just find a room for today, crash since we won't last as long as everyone else considering that it looks to be close to noon, and then tomorrow, we figure out where we can settle. I want to see Firenze's room too although I'm not sure I want to sleep on the ground."
