A call to arms? Who: Audrey Hanson, Nathan Petrelli, possibly Danko? Where: From Los Angeles to New York, stopping at the Senator's office. When: May 4th, about 10am. What: Audrey gets on an airplane and flies to her new assignment. At first, she thinks its another joke from her coworkers. Rating: PG-13 at most.
The letter was left haphazardly on her desk, blending in with the rest of the paperwork. At first, she didn't even notice it, almost mistaking it for junk mail. When she noticed it was from her supervisor, however, she slid her letter opener through the side and took out.. a plane ticket, as well as a note.
'Your new assignment is waiting for you.'
Did he think she was stupid? Ever since the failed capture of Ted Sprague and the disappearance of Sylar, her colleagues did wonders at reminding her constantly of how much of a failure she was at catching boogey men. Her jobs had lost their appeal, and even though she did all she could to complete her cases, it just wasn't the same.
The murderers weren't as unreachable as Sylar was, after all. Not as exciting.
So the letter, and the ticket caused her to eye roll. And yet, suddenly, after speaking to her supervisor and getting the rundown: a Senator in New York was recruiting people for a 'job', to round up 'special people' (something he said with a smirk but piqued Audrey's interest) and soon she had packed what little she needed and was off.
Since it was a job, the transfer and hotel room she'd be staying at would be covered. No problems there, she'd been to New York before.
It was just a bit intimidating to sit on a plane for several hours, since the flight was much earlier than she would've liked, and barely have enough time to shower and change before her appointment with the Senator. Not that she had much appetite, nor a desire to sleep. She was nervous as hell.
So in her business attire once more, badge tacked formally to her clothes, she entered the office's waiting room to wait for the secretary to summon her.
