Character Name: CASEY Patterson, HOMEWRECKER EXTRAORDINAIRE
House and Year: Definitely a Coppertale Junior
Classes: Charms, Herbology, Outdoor Education, Artificing, Aesthetic Magic, and Wizard Literature.
Extracurriculars: Cheer Squad (Coppertale & School), Gaming (D&DM), Duelling & Fencing, and Drama (movement only).
Current State:

Things exploded this week? He's going to try and get revenge on Chris but I haven't decided how; Jacob told him that starting a fight won't help anything buuut he doesn't fully believe that.

Yes, Chris and Ivy were both in on the prank. If he seems to be placing all the blame on Chris? He is. He hates Chris because he's dating Rosy, on whom he's been crushing since A-Day but he doesn't get crushes so it presents like a subtle, weird obsession with the poor girl. He thinks Chris is unworthy of her attention—thus stupid deserving of Casey's ire. As well, he's known Ivy since they were kids and likes her a lot, and he hasn't quite processed how someone he considers a friend (even one he wasn't always nice to) could "do this to him." Yes, this is overreacting and ironic considering his bullying history.

Casey thinks people think he's a dumb jerk and he doesn't like it but he also doesn't know how to understand or deal with it. After Duelling he thinks that half the time people talk about how stupid he obviously is since he took the prank personally, and the other half he thinks they're talking about how ridic the detention was because he's been historically nasty. Neither fact is untrue, however, he's starting to feel worse about his historic nasticism and having constant reminders of it is making him feel angry all over again, so he's more prone to act out.

TL;DR: He's slowly coming to terms with how little he likes his reputation as a bully and/or idiot but he doesn't know how to deal. He's stalking around more frustrated and/or angry than usual. :(

He's trying to spend more time doing things that usually keep him from being an asshole: bothering Cricket and Jacob, trying to excel on the Cheer Squads because they're times when he can prove he's capable of doing well at something, and work things out himself in the dance studio except he's hitting obstacles there.

I've mentioned it before but I'll say it again: I literally write Casey as though he's a poorly-trained and -socialized adolescent dog. Literally. It's v helpful.

Looking For: I wrote Casey into a caricature corner where he's this excessively stupid bro. I don't like that? I'm trying to gradually write him out of it by developing his less awful side. I'd say "maybe he'll use a comma instead of a line break soon" but let's not get ahead of ourselves. I think something I'm looking for especially is the chance to write Casey interacting with others in new situations? Usually when I write him he's making out and/or angry, and it would be nice to diversify. Logs are especially welcome because sometimes I struggle with his ~voice,~ but journal exchanges are always fun! hmu if you're interested.

A Cute GIF of Your Character: I've been watching & iconning some of the Glee episodes Casey's PB is from and… um. It turns out I just wrote the character he plays on Glee? Reformed "man-slut" (their words) and jackass that's slowly becoming better but is making a lot of mistakes, uses the words "bro" and "sick," has a short temper, rode a scooter down the school hallway, and sings and dances in the weight room. I think his PB may actually have some contemporary dance training?!?!?!

My main complaint is that there's an entire episode about twerking and yet no good shots of him twerking. THE GIF POTENTIAL WAS SO HIGH.

Also, if I'd seen Glee before choosing his PB there's a good chance Casey would have ended up being the dude in the middle, whom I think I also adore:

If Casey ever wanted to start a fight and control how much the fight escalates - now is his time since Chris can't hit back

Cons are that there's an 80 percent chance chris will enjoy it anyway

Pros are that if casey isn't a dumbass about it Chris won't actually tell on him

But Olivia and casey are on the same cheer team and same year so I feel like they have more interactions than we've been acknowledging?

	i mean. he wouldn't start a fight and then keep punching someone when they're not fighting back. so he'd be like "WANNA GO" and chris would be like "NO" and he'd be like "....................... OH. So, I am going to keep tagging him on Raf's post, BUT, following the recent disaster to strike Gooseberry High, Rafael will start taking more interest in Casey, his dancing, what's up with him, having a short temper sure sucks doesn't it, bonding over wanting to wear fewer layers, etc.

Also, would you like Diego to press more about Casey's "anger" with him? Diego is distressed that he thinks Casey is mad at him, and would want to try and make that right, could lead to maybe some kind of friendship with Soft Sensitive Boy

I'M SO HIT AND MISS AT LOGGING but give me a little to wrap up all these logs I owe... mostly Jenny and Katie AND I'M THERE FOR YA CASEY

duly noted! that's very sweet of raf :* he'll be pretty amenable to rafael's check-ins because (as previously mentioned) he respects the dude. he might even, god forbid, like him. WHY DOES HE HAVE TO TRY BEFRIENDING PREFECTS, WHYYYYYY

it's up to you, i think! while it's a bit of a sore spot casey's pretty much over it and is going to just like, try extra hard not to step on his next ~potential partner's~ toes. i think the only real way diego could get through to him would be picking up ravi, plonking him down in front of casey, and literally saying "I SAW HIM AND I WENT AFTER HIM." (that's all kind of metaphorically-speaking.) but a possible friendship with Soft Sensitive Boy would indeed be very sweet!

	okay the only time they've ever interacted she was being a bitch to him but that's kind of par for the course in this friend group. anyway she was legitimately charmed by his amortentia poetry so there's that at least lmao. his subtlety-of-a-fist quality probably just makes her want to HELP HIM OUT ONE EVIL PLAN COMING RIGHT UP (Reply to this) (Parent)

If Casey wants to focus on cheer and get some extra practice in, as part of his 'doing things that keep him from being an asshole' initiative, Ty would be willing to put in extra time with him? They could work on gymnastics, maybe, since that's Casey's weaker area. I don't know if being around Ty more would be something he'd want or something that he wouldn't want, though, given their history re:bullying?

Aaaaand, for the record, Ty does think the Chris and Ivy thing was shitty? So. There's that. Have some sympathy or something!

casey would be SO DOWN for gymnastics. can he hit ty up after the game? now that he's on a team with all 4 houses together he realizes how much tumbling fun he's missing out on. :( he doesn't dislike ty for sure, and he's got more respect for him now that he's his captain. i can see his request for some tumblin' tutorials being on the side of "i want to ask you but i don't want to sound weak asking you so i'm going to try sounding cool but mostly i'll be 'douchey' with a side of 'insecure'"

Really, what cheerleaders do is tumbling anyway, I think. I just use the terms interchangeably a lot of the time BECAUSE I AM THE WORST. ♥

But that sounds good! And awwww Casey. There's nothing wrong with asking for help! Ty's feelings about Casey still swing back and forth a lot, just because it's a little hard to completely forget about how he treated him back in the day, but an earnest request for help and wanting to learn and everything will go a long way with him. And spending some one-on-one time with him probably will too. WE HAVE A PLAN.

Hazel is available for more interactions! She doesn't hate Casey (like maybe someone else on their team), she's just... very unimpressed with him when he's being a dick. I imagine she rolls her eyes a lot at him, but she's not a grudge-holder so he doesn't really need to fight very hard to get into her good graces. They can have some silliness? They can do fun cheer stuff together?
