So he's finally here! *cue Kermit flailing of arms* YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! This will sadly probably be my last character, because i am so abominably slow with apps. Anyway recap... I'm Julie, 28, from Australia and currently an at home person as I've been recovering from broken ankle/leg for past 6 months but hoping to possibly get back to TAFE next year to get back into Graphic Design. Here at AG I'm the deputy mod, not that I've been much of one of late, and my other two characters are Allegra Flint (Slytherin, Fifth Year) and Cassius Warrington (Slytherin, Sixth Year)... er, no i don't have a thing for playing Slytherins. >.>

This here is Rémy Laurent. He's a 7th Year from Beauxbatons; more specifically the 7B class. Er, he does actually have a middle name, but in trying to finish the app off I haven't had a chance to properly think of what it ought to be.

Rémy is a naturally charming, friendly, easy-going type of person. Generally never has a bad word to say about anyone, and that's including people he doesn't like. (OMG don't you just hate him now?) He's the sort of person that prefers the quiet rather than say go to a Quidditch match. He is a completely hopeless romantic (but he's not going to sit around waiting for Prince Charming).
He looooves music! Loves singing and playing his guitar. He's also pretty good with drawing/sketching, but doesn't really pursue it seriously.

As for family he sadly has no siblings, but he's okay with that. His mother, Françoise, is an artist, who despite being muggleborn deals mostly in magical portraiture, murals and landscapes rather than muggle art. His father, Guillaume, helps runs his family's business... which I've yet to figure out what it is except that it leaves the family being moderately wealthy. :/

So where might you see Rémy? Well he's taking Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, Astronomy, Charms, Potions and Transfiguration. So if you take those clases you'll see him around. He's also in the Choir and Drama clubs; and is grateful that the foreign students have been allowed to join. So yay.

Sadly for the girls sighing about French boys, this one is gay... buuuuut there is a bit of plottage where poor Samir thinks that Rémy is straight because he's always seen being friendly with this girl... but that's just Rémy's natural state. The only things we've (Patricia and I) have really figured out (but cant decide on) is a) the poor girl in question doesn't realise that Rémy isn't because well one he's gay and two he kind of has his eye on someone else; or b) the girl is simply one of his Beauxbatons friends.... so kind of have to decide on that.

And to stop myself from rambling on and on I'll end things here, only to say that am totally up for any plot. So friends/frenemies/enemies/whatever apply within. And if you want to read more on the boy just go here.

EDIT: So I realised I forgot to mention whereabouts Rémy comes from/lives. Right so Rémy (when not at school) lives with his parents in a smallish wizarding area in Montpellier in the Languedoc-Rousillon region. Ended up choosing Montpellier because a) sooooooo so pretty, b) er future plottage reasons. >.>

	I wouldn't try it myself. I have two guinea pigs who would be mad enough to eat it for me, as long as the words "The Doctor would like this" were to be uttered. XD What about chocolate fish? Like chocolate frogs, but fish-shaped? (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

They get so disappointed that we won't allow them to try fish fingers and custard that I'm starting to feel guilty about it. Plus Cate has now become obsessed with dipping raw pasta on chocolate spread. o_O

Really? How so?
Over here we have a brand of chocolate called Fantasias, which makes chocolate figures in various shapes and forms that double as decorations for the Christmas tree, and I always find little blue carps among the figures.

Really really. I present: Chocolate Fish. Obviously it's fish-shaped, but basically it's pink or white marshmallow in thin layer of chocolate.
Oooh we have similar chocolates over here too, although I don't particularly fancy the chocolate (since unfortunately it's the 'cheap' kind).

and then thought hmm what could work... and perhaps one of the manymany things that Laurent Chocolateries makes is chocolat papillons ...reckon it'd be more tricksy to catch than chocolate frogs

Raw spaghetti, to be more precise. She dips it in the chocolate and then tries to eat it as loudly as she can. Apparently it's funny to see my mother cringe with the noise.

Ooh, that sounds interesting. The fish in the Fantasias are smaller and made of plain milk chocolate (i.e., the "cheap" kind) but kids still love it, as it means that taking down the Christmas tree becomes a feast.

Oooh, that sounds awesome! And definitely trickier to catch.

Ooh nice. We've got some like that too. (Some of the cheap chocolate is nice... but the 'cheap' chocolate used in these ladybug/fish/frog ones, that are usually wrapped in decorative foil with like paper wings or whatever attached, is like the not-so-good 'cheap' chocolate). Hehe I bet kids would love that side of it lol.

Although in my opinion decidedly less ick-inducing than chocolate frogs... which are probably tasty but they're not exactly pretty.

also trying to figure out Rémy's first post... well i've got a start on what I want him to say (he's only just recently found his journal... apparently it had fallen to the bottom of his trunk)... but it's what his level of english is and then trying to get a handle on the word arrangement ...if that makes sense

Oh yes, definitely.

I can see how tricky that probably is, especially with the grammar differences. My references when it comes to native French speakers struggling with English are 'Allo 'Allo and Poirot, but depending on how you want his level of English to be either reference might actually be overdoing it.

	nods Over here in ozland, my favourite 'cheap' chocolate is Red Tulip, though usually only get to have that around easter unfortunately. nods I suppose one way to try is using google to translate from english to french, but then take the translation and put it back in english... though not going for the literal obvsly but something close. ? 	I'm a die-hard fan of Garoto chocolate, myself. It's cheap in price, but definitely not "cheap" when it comes to flavour. Yes, that's a possibility, though I'm afraid in some cases that method doesn't help much in terms of word placement. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Mm i know that feeling. Am a die hard fan of Red Tulips mini solid easter eggs. One year I bought 3 bags (maybe 20 or so eggs in a bag... give or take)... just for myself. Oh dear. I've fallen to that temptation myself, only in my case with Kinder (another of my weaknesses). And I should mention that I need to hide my chocolate whenever I buy a Garoto mix, not only because it's delicious but also because, as I've mentioned, the twins will grab anything they feel is related to Doctor Who - you see, the name of that brand's plain milk chocolate can be translated to English as "Hello, sweetie".

Ah well, you'll get there very quickly, I'm sure. *sends good vibes*

	Mmm Kinder chocolate. My mum has huge collection of Kinder toys, and as kids we'd end up with lots of kinder chocolate whilst mum got the toys lol. giggles Good reasons to hide the chocolate. 	I like every sort of Kinder. My favourite variety when I was little were these big dolls with loads of teeny-tiny eggs inside. Nowadays I'm mad about Happy Hyppo. Well, making one small mistake here and there (and having him suffer vocabulary fails at times) can be enough, so don't worry too much. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	I only ever really liked the Kinder Surprise chocolate. Although I did try Kinder Bueno... which is funny cause didn't really like it but I was okay with eating Ferrero Rocher (which Kinder/Ferrero make). o.O Well have made post, but made it private since wanted to run it by you first. 	The little eggs were rather good - the filling is basically the milk part you find in Kinder Surprise, but with added chopped nuts. Weeeeeell, although I like Kinder Bueno, it's possibly my least favourite. Ferrero Rocher, on the other hand, is fabulous. The flavour is not as intense as in Bueno's filling. Ooh that does sound kind of nice. *nods* That's probably why I like Rocher and not Bueno then... but stranger still since I don't really like nuts anyway. For instance detest peanuts and peanut butter... but love peanut butter cookies and satay sauce. o.O

I tried posting without the box ticked, and then ticked, and then not ticked... didn't work. so made new intro entry, same process. still did not work. for some reason it finally decided to work when i did an untick and save entry, then edited it to say 2035, ticked the box... and then i was finally able to post the journal entry. ...argh.... still as glitchy as that was IJ is infinitely better than LJ. :|

Well, if you don't like peanuts, then peanut butter is definitely not going to be to your taste since there's no other ingredients (like the chocolate, or the other ingredients in the peanut butter cookies) to alter its flavour slightly. That, and peanut butter in my opinion tastes almost as intensely as Kinder Bueno.

Ugh yes, that's frustrating as hell, but a million times better than LJ.

	Good point... and most definitely right about the mix of different ingredients altering/softening the peanut taste. Oh other peanutty thing I like is Picnic bars.
