What: On his way home
When: Today
Where: Subway station
Rating: TBD
It had been a long day. Nico had taken this job knowing it wasn't going to be the easiest thing in the world, but sometimes it just got plain depressing. He spent his days trying to make people more accepting of mutants, which meant listening to the constant barrage of anti-mutant propaganda.
Monsters. Not people. Freaks. Shouldn't be allowed to teach our children. Sometimes Nico could understand why people went for the Hellfire organization.
Then Hellfire blew things up and proclaimed war on humankind, and Nico had an abrupt change of heart again.
As he exited the subway, he was trying to get himself in a better mood, knowing he had a wife and daughter to come home to who weren't going to want to deal with a grouch. He was so focused on this clearing his head process- which generally involved recalling happy memories and reassuring himself over and over that he was making a difference- that he smashed straight into someone, and nearly toppled over himself.
"Shit!" he exclaimed, struggling to right himself. "Sorry! Sorry!"
