Intelligent rats sound good, until you remember that their intelligence means they can understand things like family and children, that they can feel love and grief and that they have the wits to know how to use their fabric bedding to hang themselves.

	Thank you I don't think anyone would expect them to have progressed to the point where they would do something like that. ~~I should have known better~~ I don't think I'm the kind of person who should be in charge of the welfare of anything unable to take care of itself. I think we tend to misjudge animals in general. I've heard of dogs and ducks who take their own lives in other ways, so it's not unique to intelligent rats - they probably just have more advanced methods at their disposal. And no matter what Hermione says, it's not always something you can just prevent.

	There's always options in life, it all depends on what you want to get out of it. What do you like to do? What do you do well? What places are there openings? Options everywhere.
