The 1960s have become synonymous with all the new, exciting, radical, and subversive events and trends of the period. One such event was the public emergence of a strange new breed of human. Enter the mutant or homo superior, genetically different in the most peculiar ways. Renowned geneticist and lead expert in the field of mutation, Professor Charles Xavier has created a school that to the public is just an ordinary private boarding school. However behind this public facade the school is actually a training ground for this new breed of super human. His, however, is not the only team of mutants or meta humans. Others are creating their own. For safety, for fighting, for saving the world from themselves. It is also a period of conflict, both internal and abroad. It is during the height of the Cold War and fear and suspicion is very much a part of the general populace. These heightened feelings are leading to questions of belief and of the state of political agendas. Just beneath the surface there is a wind of change, and with that comes a dream of hope.
