SIRI D'ALBIS; BLACK MAGE

→ BACKGROUND; originally from Kerwon. Moved to Emillion a month or two ago, so she is completely new to the area. Her family are nobles, very religious individuals. When Siri was a little girl she met a man who claimed she was a prophetess from Faram. It all escalated quickly.

Left in the mists of the Feywoods as a trial to prove her prophetic powers, Siri's survival and return cemented the belief that she was indeed privy to the word of Faram. Unfortunately the traumatic event left her a little bit unstable; despite that, rumours say that she does have gifts that allow her to 'know things'. Furthermore, her aptitude for magic was interpreted as more proof of being a prophetess.

Sadly, her skill was for black magic, not white (causing her parents WOMP WOMP). Her Guildmaster had Siri sent to Emillion so she could further her studies, but really he thought the poor girl could do with getting away from the whole Faram-type-prophet thing.

→ PLOT; everything and anything. Siri has a peculiar way of speaking in which she can make sense one moment and then... forget it, she might be speaking in code. She is a nice person though and mostly wants to help.

Depending on what works, characters are welcome to know of her reputation in Kerwon or not. To believe she is a prophet or not. WHATEVER YOU LIKE \o/

Last thing, Siri does have a knack for knowing and perceiving things. So! Please feel free to dropbox me if you'd like Siri to have a vision/something about a plot or character of yours. If you want her to know something or whatever. I'm always more than happy to participate in any plots and I'm flexible.

RIVALEN BEAU; SAMURAI

→ BACKGROUND; yes, he is rene's cousin. just with 100% less cute. Rivalen's father was sibling's with Rene's mom. He has lived in Emillion since he was little so HE CAN KNOW EVERYONE TOO :D. Mostly he has had a pretty straight forward life except for the death of Remy and then his father.

While dad wanted him to follow his footsteps and be a Holy Knight, Rivalen decided to do whatever he wanted. For the last two years he has been in the service of a retainer (OPEN). While he is very loyal to his lord, he also has a malicious streak. Rivalen is your metaphorical Jekyll & Hyde. All he wants people to see is his 'i'm a shiny samurai' while with those he can get away with will see the 'i'm a little douchecanoe too'.

→ PLOT; again, everything and anything. He has been a resident of Emillions for most of his life so anyone from there. Other people in the guild, hello~~ and any unsavoury folk he can troll with.

Hey Emillion, Aura here, bringing you this chick, Saffron Irving.

As you might have guessed, Saffron is Ridley's older sister that left some time ago, but she's back! Mostly because her father died, but also because she secretly loves her little sister lots. She really does.

Saffron is...uptight; she's organized and serious and strict and generally sounds like someone thirty years older than her. She's also a Scholar getting ready to become a Black Mage. To all Black/Red Mages, beware, for she'll be hunting for mentors, as in several. She's ridiculously ambitious if a bit intense about this stuff so yeah, beware. She's also the typical little miss know it all that struggles among people her age, so young ones, bother her, bother her without mercy. She'll be thankful, eventually.

So, CR! She knew people before leaving, around 3-4 years give it or take, so she'll be trying to reconnect with those. She will also be obviously trying to get her bearings as she hasn't been on Emillion in a good while, so there should be plenty of chances for her to make new acquaintances.

And I still suck at these things so I'm going to stop here.

Merry Christmas all! Julie here with my little present to you: one last character intro, finally replacing my Ordalian mage with another. Wilham Wolfe is a 40-year-old geomancer and former black mage; he came from a family of glassblowers in a small town near Anjou, but magic was forbidden there so he was shipped off as a kid to study at the Mages Tower. As a big ole battle mage, he's used to life in the field thanks to a near-decade with the Black Lions. He drifted towards the Dark, however, and his twin brother died in action, which threw his entire life askew. As a result, Wolfe spent the past 3 years wandering the world and picked up geomancy before finally ending up with the Disciples (sup Lionel), a group of altruistic Pharist adventurers. He then crept his way back into Emillion during the plague.

He's a friendly guy -- v. intelligent and talkative and used to be pretty lively and playful, and keeps up that joking game face, but has ended up pretty calm and zen in an attempt to wrestle with his inner demons. He was mentored by Toku, used to mentor Flynn, and could know other mages from the Tower, people who go on active field missions, Anjou folk, people affiliated with the Black Lions (and in the future, more Pharist types). Also I should be properly off hiatus now that I survived my ridic travels to Norway; I'm installed in timezone GMT+1 for the next week and will be attending to all the things I owe soon ♥!

TIS I! JAN! with my fifth. He is part of the TG and is a THIEF class. At least, that's his preferred class. His name is Rhys Alistair Kinlan and he's Ordalian. He practically grew up in a circus, so he loves to perform tricks and things. He's incredibly acrobatic, pretty okay with animals, throwing sharp objects, and robbing you blind, while you're enjoying the show, okay? Srsly. He sometimes does street magic or elaborate illusions. Being a carnie is a lifelong learning process my friends. His stage name is "The Amazing Alistair". "The Amazing Rhys" didn't have that great of a sound to it.

He's been in and around Emillion for the last ten years, and has beautifully been leaving a trail of very angry ladies as he has a tendency to fall in and out of love _real_ easy. Like for serious swears he's in love with one chick, until he finds the next one. It's pretty intense, yo. He's an incorrigible flirt and a ridic romantic. He also has an undying love of money.

Worry not, she goes by Flynn and doesn't introduce herself as Hippolyta. IF YOU KNOW HER NAMESAKE, BROWNIES FOR U. She's a 25-yo blue mage hoping to be a geomancer one day, and she is a tiny tornado with a scythe.

Hi, Nat here returning from hiatus with a second character!

His name is Alcuin Gaerrison, and he's a 23 year old Dragoon with the Valendian Rangers. Who wants to be a Dragon Ride when he grows up!

He's basically a puppy dog in human form - tall and blonde and very enthusiastic about everything. He hails from a farming community in the outlands and has a gazillion siblings (he's somewhere in the middle), so he's basically a relatively naive country boy with a very simplistic view of the world. He's pretty good natured about everything (even when the joke is on him, which it frequently is), and is sort of religious in the sense that he loves Faram and tries to always do good. He's a sucker for a pretty face (male or female) and has a tendency to develop infatuations at the drop of a hat. He's not very good at actual commitment though, mostly because he just finds people too fascinating to stick to just the one.

History wise: he came to Emillion when he was 13, having dreamed all his life of being a Dragon Rider one day. He travelled with a cousin, Kayden who was a knight in the Fighter's Guild and served as a mentor of sorts until he was kicked out of the guild (he spent a lot of his time being drunk and disorderly, and eventually got into a brawl that the guild really couldn't ignore). Alcuin had spent a lot of his time trying to keep his cousin out of trouble before this, and he initially blamed himself for Kayden being kicked out. He was 20 when he finally graduated to Dragoon, and it took him two years before he was accepted by the Rangers.

As a fighter, he has a tendency to act first, think later (if he thinks at all), which has a tendency to get him into trouble a lot because he forgets about waiting for orders. He's a good fighter (obviously), and spends a lot of time working out to keep up his strength and endurance. Thanks to his tendency to throw himself in harm's way constantly, he's going to start considering switching classes to Sentinel because... he'll probably be better at it than being a Dragoon.

PLOT POINTS: someone who took over mentoring him after his cousin got kicked out of the guild? RANGER THINGS. People he trained with? People he's had some sort of romantic entanglement with? People he... could have a romantic entanglement with. People playing practical jokes on him, he's a really easy target guys.

Also if anyone wants to pick up his cousin / any of his siblings, they are totally available.

FINALLY: and unrelated, if anyone wants Rena for anything let me know, I am almost totally free of uni so will be around more. Hopefully.

Hello, lovely citizens of Emillion! Hope you’re not too far gone in your cups for an intro post. This is Sonia, bringing in my fourth (and I was concerned about making a second three months ago, ahahahaha) and the ultimate oldie. This is Toku Matsudaira, Geomancer and third member of the Mages’ Guild Council. He’s also 54-years-old, thus putting an end to Julie’s brief reign. #sorrynotsorry

Toku hails from Sako Island, in Ordalia, though he left his home at a very young age to pursue a study of magic in Emillion. His first class was Blue Mage, but due to an injury in the field (which still gives him trouble, especially now he’s getting on in years) he could no longer go out and learn new abilities from monsters, so he switched to Time Mage. After that, it was Black Mage and, for a few years, he mentored Peony when she arrived in Emillion. He finally changed his class to Geomancer over a decade ago, feeling that the concept of drawing energy from nature connected with his worldview. Hasn’t looked back since.

As for his personality, he’s a man overly concerned with formality, and what is “proper”. He believes that the good of the many should always take precedence over individual desires. He has a strong sense of duty to society, and to his Guild in particular, which would lead him to make sacrifices if he believed it was for the greater good. He doesn’t deal well with feelings, and often lets the important things go unsaid, simply because he believes they’re obvious from the context, or they don’t need to be said. That said, though he is terrible at expressing his feelings, he’s nowhere near dead inside. You can’t see it on his face, but he feels things very deeply. He’s a deeply spiritual man who takes refuge in meditation and the outdoors to dull the regrets he carries with him.

Hi gang! Connor (Charity, Sabina) bringing in my third character here. This is Sapa'akiau Kealumunkili, though he's known in Valendia as Sebastian Kelmendir. Bastian (as he likes to be called) is a warrior monk from the island nation of Kolokaui, an archipelago off the coast of Ordalia that is essentially an Ivalicean version of pre-Colonial Hawai'i.

The people of Kolokaui worship the beneficent goddess Walu, lady of the air and sea, and pay homage to her terrifying sister Makina'a, goddess of earth and flame. Bastian's order, The Sons of the Sisters, is tasked primarily with assuaging Makina'a's constant rage to ensure that the Kolokauians are protected from the volcanoes that ring their islands. Unfortunately, a few years ago an enormous volcanic eruption devastated the capital city of Mokohonu, and the Sons were blamed. Now they're out on a global pilgrimage to learn more about magic, nature, and the divine, the better to perform their duties.

Bastian is a devout worshiper of Walumakina'a, the conflated form of the two sisters, whom he and his order believe to be the manifestation of Mother Nature. He doesn't know much about Pharism apart from what Valendian missionaries have been trying to push on the Kolokauians to little success, but he thinks it all seems rather stuffy. That said, the Pharist knowledge base could prove useful -- he's arrived in Emillion on his lonesome, splitting off from his brothers to see what he can learn in the big city.

I'd love to connect with Fighters' Guild people (he just joined!), Pharist types, anyone who'd like to show him around the city, other monks, other foreigners dealing with Emillion culture shock, and anything else people can think of!

hello my friends another new person coming your way.

you can call me zed and eventually i'll learn everyone's names. this is tomatsu saito, 28 year old samurai in the fighter's guild. he's a bit overcomplicated but basically he is the older brother of audrey (larcener) and Juli (clearyourmind), previously known as thomas, and was wrenched from his home when fumiya (oyabun) rudely murdered his parents. from then on he joined the black dragons and adopted a new identity. he's a part of the fighter's guild to tactically gain information though the success of that is questionable and his role is as a personal bodyguard of fumiya but he does other bodyguard work on the side. his long sob story is over here if you'd like to read it.

his personality in a nutshell is quiet, cold, and not friendly unless it's advantageous to befriend you. he's mostly indifferent but it's a self constructed emotional wall to prevent any weaknesses. if you get close enough you'll find out that he's caring and kind in a mother grizzly kind of way. he has soft spots when it comes to younger siblings, children in general, and those who remind him of how he used to be. and he's also very gung ho on the idea of responsibility and duty.

Very briefly about me for those I've yet to meet: I'm an Australian university student studying law, and it's generally terrible. Hi, all! This is Sonia, bringing in my third character: Loch Lemach, TG, harbormaster's assistant and poisons manufacturer.

Loch is a 30-year-old Machinist turned Ninja. She's a knife fighter and her weapons have names and can inflict status ailments: serendipity inflicts Poison, fat lord inflicts Sleep and little bitch inflicts Stop. She also owns an alley-piece called curiosity which she keeps in her office to deal with intruders.

Loch grew up an urchin on the streets of Emillion, and perhaps due to all that hardship she doesn't trust people (and doesn't like them much, in most cases). She is an extreme survivalist and will do anything to protect her interests, which are limited to her survival, her freedom and her wealth. The lives and freedom of others do not concern her overly much, and she will only help others if she stands to gain something. She got by thieving until she was taken in by the harbormaster, Philip Lanstrum, at age 11. You can read her full bio here.

Hello emillion! My name is Krys and I am yet another new person. (We're going to be throwing a parade soon sometime in the future.) Some of you already know me and have me friended at commiesharefest. For those of you that don't, I am a 27 year old lady from NYC. I live in a house of RPers (hi Julie and Rae!) and am fairly boring tbh. Feel free to hit me up via email or comment for plot or non-plot purposes. I don't really have AIM atm, but I check my email fairly obsessively and have gchat if you need me for stuff. Warning, though, I keep old lady hours because I work 7 AM to 3 PM (EST) so if you email me late at night, I won't get back to you until the next day.

ONTO THE FUN STUFF!

I imagine there will be a string of these over the next few days / weeks / whatever, but this is obviously the most important intro you will read because it's mine.

Anyway, I'm Nat, Australian, findable at missbossyboots and you should definitely add me so I can sufficiently stalk you.

For my first trick, I will be bringing you Rena, dancer and member of the Thieves Guild. She has a few different identities that people will know her by, which I will get to!

She is the daughter of a whore and a traveller, and she definitely does not know who her father is. She was raised in the brothel her mother worked in before she ran away and joined up with a group of other street kids. They got by thanks to begging, thievery, pick pocketing and general trickery. Rena eventually got noticed by someone from TG, who mentored her from a distance and eventually shoved her into a dance academy. Since she started "late" she has always and will always be not a technically perfect dancer, though this is also due to her just not giving a shit about being "perfect".

Blah blah, she joined the Bards/Thieves Guild, became a principal dancer in a non-traditional dance company, and maintains a bunch of different identities so she can collect information. Which is basically what she REALLY likes doing. She has contacts in varying levels of society so it's always possible one of her identities knows you or someone close to you.

Also she has a shoe obsession. Which can be blamed on not having any in her formative years.

The most important identities she maintains are:

Rena: the street rat and con artist. Still occasionally runs with those left from her childhood crew, especially her childhood BFF who is her partner in crime and life. Only her BFF, mentor and probs some TG higher ups can connect this identity to any of her others. Personality wise she is crude and obnoxious and often deliberately dresses so she is mistaken to be male.

Katerena diAngelo: nickname Rena. It's this identity she uses as a public member of the Bards Guild. She attended the academy and performs as a principal dancer as Katerena. Katerena is popular in wealthy circles who enjoy socialising with performers, and has been the mistress of several wealthy people and aristocrats over the years. Katerena is always dressed in what becomes the latest fashion (she has a genius seamstress to thank for this), and is gracious, vivacious and an excellent conversationalist.

Anastasia: burlesque dancer at Ivory. PLEASE COME AT ME if you have characters involved with Ivory before I make all kinds of shit up about it. In the right circles Anastasia is known to be a member of the Thieves Guild. Anastasia is bold, feisty and a bit of a tease. Her signature look / act / etc typically involves a lot of silk, leather and scarves.

Hello Emillion! This is Connor, player of Charity Laroque (sourcharity), with my second character.

Sabina Domicetti, known variously to the citizens of Emillion as Sister Sabina (said with wry amusement) and Scarlet Sabina (said with hauteur and derision), is an immensely talented White Mage with an immensely infamous reputation. Born to old school Pharist merchants and raised in the convent, Sabina planned to become a nun and a consecrated Pharist Mage. She was booted just before taking holy orders, however, after it was discovered she was pregnant. Disgraced, she sought sanctuary at the Mages' Guild and has been there ever since, serving as a tutor and healer. What became of her child, who would be about 15 or 16 now, is a mystery.

Despite the rather public falling-out, Sabina still has close connections with the Church, and association with her is something of a hot-button issue between stricter and more laid-back members of the clergy and religious. This is compounded by her habit of rubbing elbows with less-than-respectable elements of society; as an outcast herself, she feels a need to minister to others who might be turned away. Her association with brothelkeepers, street heavies and the like has done little to improve her reputation among those scandalized by her behavior in the past.

Though her talent for healing is considerable, Sabina is especially skilled with offensive Holy magic, and is one of the premier casters of such magic in Emillion. There has been some concern over her interest in this sort of magic at the Mages' Guild, as Holy spells are more unstable and potentially volatile than elemental Black Magic. So far she's been lucky, but the higher-ups have made a point of keeping a watchful eye on her further arcane pursuits.
