I do not understand this form of communication. Is it not simpler to speak face to face?

And who is 'Siri'? She keeps asking me questions. Does she live in this device?

Google tells me you're saying nice to meet you in Scottish Gaelic. So I offer you: Suāve tē cognōscere est.

It's cheating if you had to use Google. I've learned Scottish Gaelic since I was a wee lass back in the bonny isle of Alba.

I'll challenge you with a simple: Quid dēfluis?

Hey now. I actually know Latin.

And Oregon dēfluō.

Oregon? Interesting. So what brings you down here to Vegas?

And all right, all right. I'll give you credit for actually knowing Latin.

Well, I went to UC Berkeley, which took me to Stanford, which took me to the Desert Research Institute down here. What about you, o lass of the Highlands?

What, I'm not a bonny lass, just a lass?

Law, though writing has stolen my heart.

You have to call me bonny first.

Ah - fiction? Non? Poetry? Theater? Film? Shakespearean imitation? Music? Lyrics? Lyrics and music?

Oh, very well, since I imagine we will be discussing this for a long time. I suppose my next question is should it be "bonnie lad or bonnie lass"? And, so you know, both spellings are acceptable, though bonnie is more traditional and common.

Most of the above I've toyed with time and time again. I enjoy fiction quite a bit, especially fanfiction. I'll admit it's a guilty pleasure.

And so you know, you said bonny first. And it doesn't really matter. I'm cool with either.

Ain't nothin' wrong with a little bump and grind.

Aye, I did. Well, then, bonnie lass.

I suppose that there's not. I do enjoy my share of writing. Who are your favorite writers?

Good god, you get friendly fast. That is a very personal question.

Well, to a writer, that's not a very personal question. Just genuine curiosity, that is.

So, are you going to call me bonnie lass or not?

Next you're going to ask me if I like short fiction or novels. Bonnie lass.

Or in English or Latin. Or |33t. Or historical fiction or science fiction. I'm a fan of all of the above, though I must admit to having a preference to historical fiction.

I was taught to wait until after marriage to reveal genre preference.

How is a marriage with writers not a real marriage, I ask you!
