Indulge my curiosity. Have you all come to a decision, yet? Are you prepared to succumb to my rule, or will you require convincing?

The humans? Such ambition is wasted.

One has to start somewhere. I own one world already, a paltry one I have no real relish to posses. But Midgard presents its own variety of entertaining challenges.

Humans are little more than a virus in desperate need of eradication.

On that we may agree to disagree. One can hardly rule over a world with no people in it. If there are casualties along the way, of course, such things can't be helped. This is a war of conquest, after all. But all of them? No.

They are hollow, dull creatures. Once amusing as pets, their eternal desire for more quickly bores. They know no satiation and their pride is but the husk of greed. There is no race less deserving of destruction.

But I've had many more years to despise them than you. By all means, enjoy your time with them. May they prove more interesting to you.

It sounds as if you've had some bad experiences with them, and my apologies to you.

I find them interesting. Hardscrabble lives, short and painful. I feel they could benefit from a strong, ruling hand. They may not know it know, but they will appreciate it once it comes.

I certainly would not mind if their streets ran like rivers of their blood.

They could benefit from remembering that there are far worse things in the night than the ones that go bump.

Now, on the latter, I don't think we disagree at all. We simply have different ends we'd like to achieve by introducing some of the hidden creatures in the universe to them.

I remember what this world was like before their influence; it does not lead to my endearment.

In that case, I wish you success. You'll pardon me for not wishing you luck; those that command make their own luck.

You could not be more right. I think we have perhaps more than a little in common. If you ever have need of a Trickster, don't hesitate to call my name. We might be able to assist each other in a thing or two.

If you mean to rule, a Trickster is only part of what you are. Indulge my curiosity. What else is there?

I am Loki, of Asgard. My people, the Aesir, are gods the mortal creatures you so despise. [...] In actuality, however, I am not, as I was led to believe until recently, my father's true son. I was born to a different race entirely, that of the Frost Giants, the Jotunn - I do not know if you know them or the Aesir on your world, but suffice to say I answer to neither. I walk my own path.

I am aware that the humans call you myth. Legend. They forget so easily but it would appear as if two Princes of long lost cultures have returned to remind them.

Well met, Loki of his own path. I am Prince Nuada, Silverlance.

I do like very much to remind the mortals that they are just that. It's fun.

And from where do you hail, Prince Nuada?

A temporary amusement. One must take ones enjoyment where one can.

I am of the Bethmoora Clan. The sons of the Earth in the old tongue.

I have a fondness for mischief, deadly and otherwise.

sons of the earth So a race of Midgard that predated the humans? Interesting.

I have a fondness for fixing my fathers mistakes.

The elves, the fairies, the trolls and goblins, we all predate them. They were the last and they seek to have everything.

That sounds familiar.

The races where I come from are spread amongst many realms and and many worlds, not packed together all into the same small planet. I can see where that would lead to battles for supremacy.

The war was won and instead of victory, we brought home a truce the humans could never keep.

These realms and worlds, Asgard rules them all?
