Has anyone else ordered from IKEA and received a broken item? I just got my delivery today and it all looked fine, but on the way up the stairs, one of the delivery dudes smashed one of my items (it's ceramic, so yeah, kind of a big issue since it can't hold anything anymore.) It occurred after I had signed the sheet, so I couldn't document it. When you reported it, did IKEA replace the item free of charge or did you get a hassle? I'm pretty irked about this.
If you can't answer the above question, just post some macros!

what are some simple, not very expensive, community service projects you could do? we have to do one for one of my classes, for at least 6 hours. we were going to go to the humane society, but EVERYONE is doing that, and i can' think of any ideas. i really want a good one, because i think my partner left me without saying, and i am pissed. please and thank you <3
ok, so since my partner left me for another group, i squeezed myself into their group, idgaf. and they are doing something for the troops and soldiers. now, i need some kickass ideas to raise money, or get items, so they will accept me haha. i brought up raffeling tickets, and if they kick me out, ill cut them if they use my idea.

so life has decided to be great for once! today classes got canceled because of the six fucking inches of snow we got. the best part of this is that i already don't have classes tuesday or thursday, so now i'm in the middle of a three day break!

If this is the weather forecast for the next few days, do you think I should suck it up and move my crap today (by foot / hand to another dorm building. It's not far but it's far enough to not be happy about the weather) or should I maybe wait until tomorrow? By the way, what the hell is a snow shower? What's the difference between just plain old snow and a ~snow shower~?

it snowed a lot and now it's all mushy / icy outside.
should i go to class which is about 25 minutes away? i mean it's spanish and i probably should go
or should i stay home because it's cold wet and dangerous on the road and just email my instructor? + i hate when my pant legs get wet, it really pisses me off and puts me in a mood and I don't have any snow boots.

i finally bought a copy of one of my favorite books. i've read it 4 or 5 times, but it's always from the library and now i finally own a copy and it makes me really happy.
what are some books that you can read over and over again? are there any books you have a "tradition" of reading at a specific time?

I saw Bride Wars yesterday and I noticed they put stuff in the preview for it that wasn't even in the movie...
LIke in the ad for the movie, they have one of the girls putting jewels all over the other's dress so it looked ugly. Wasn't even in the movie!
Plus, when Kate Hudson says in the ad "Try not to make it so ashy." She doesn't even say that in the movie.
just show what will actually be in the movie, man.
any other movies that have done that?

EDIT: I'm at our other office today, not my usual one, AND I HATE IT. The layout was set up by someone obviously of below average intelligence so a) I can't effing see without turning around / people keep sneaking up on me, b) everyone is disorganized because it's a brand new office, and c) no one knows me there, so I'm not the unofficial HBIC~ like at our usual office. FML.

i just started working at mcdonalds and yesterday i had a lady come in bitching about the drive thru service (i was working cash register) and demanding her sweet and sour sauce. i've been more terrified by a customer before. thank god my manager was standing behind me and he took care of it.

this stray cat came around two years ago and we fed her but she was too scared to come inside, about six months - a year later there were baby kittens, four of them. now, almost six months later, i hear the moaning and groaning and it sounds like they are being thrown against my house and it's sad knowing that we can't catch them and neither can the adoption clinic.

hey div. so i just started a new job (retail), and worked a full 8 hours, and by the end of it MY FEET WERE KILLING ME. i mean literally walking was painful. note to self: never wear those shoes to work again. (i even bought special gel insoles, and it was fine for the first 6 hours but then it was like AUUUUUGH.)
