i want to get a new laptop and i was thinking about getting a sony vaio because that's what the one i use now is and it is so old and still works so i figured a vaio would be a good choice. i remember someone posting a link to the sony site where you could customize your vaio, but i can't seem to find it, does anyone know if they are still running this 'sale' or whatever it was?
what kind of computer do you have/would you recommend and why?

For those of you who've had an HP laptop and it's just gone blank on you without properly restarting (I can't even go into safe mode), what have you done to resolve the problem?

I thought you guys would find this funny. My best friend's ex-girlfriend is a petty little brat. So she started to ask for her things back, and eventually it got down to petty things. Can I have the tea back, the toy I made for your cat, etc. She reached a new low, though.
She asked him for the sticky tack she gave him back. He said, "I don't have any of your sticky tack, unless you mean the stuff on the wall to hang up my posters."

I'm thinking Wristcutters, because it's my favorite but I've only ever seen it on the internet and it might be nice to see it in a decent quality without having asian subtitles covering half the screen.

OKAY so my dad and i are supposed to hang out today and just spent about twenty minutes on the phone going back and forth asking what the other wants to do and came to nothing. so he hung up and said to call him back when i figured out what to do. more than likely ultimately we'll end up seeing a movie but i can't decide between yes man and bedtime stories to suggest so which one should we see :-[ if you've seen either and liked/disliked them/heard they suck or whatever let me know :-)

Okay div, I'm having some trouble and I was hoping you can help me out. I have Vista, and I'm trying to install AIM+. It installs and when I open it I have to point it to my AIM progam (AIM 6) but I open the folder from the AIM+ set up screen and I don't see the .exe file anywhere but when I open it up normally it's there. Halp?

Okay, I'm getting married. Specifically, though, my boyfriend has a friend who is, well, my ex-friend. We had a big falling out and she acted really rotten about it. When she learned that we were engaged, she went on a tirade and treated him like shit (as in, she wrote about how he's making the worst decision ever by marrying me, I'm a drug addict, I'm stealing his money and so on, really classy right?) so now he's feeling a uncomfortable with her, too. What I want to know is, in your opinion, should I still invite her to our wedding, since her and my boyfriend are still on speaking terms and still kind of friends? I don't know if I'm being petty or not, but I'm really scared that she'd use it as an opportunity to be super dramatic, you know? Plus, I'm not really too keen on paying for a $50 dinner for someone who is a total jerkoff :(

Are you anal about your notes?
I need my notes to be specific and in order and clean looking. I hate it when professors do stuff like make bullet points for something, but within one bullet point he's defining like every word within it. It just bugs the hell out of me. And when there's a lot of fluff and useless information that really there's no point in copying down. Also when the professor like jumps all over the goddamn place adding notes in different areas and skipping around. I can't deal with that, it has to be neat, no unneeded spaces on my page, no arrows pointing all over the place. The Social Statistics professor kept going all over the place today on the board and defining ridiculous words like ~vary~ every line in the notes and gave us the same information all over gain. It bugged the hell out of me. And the girl sitting next to me kept looking at me like "...why aren't you copying down anything?" and crap and that bugged me too.
Random side note, Social Statistics has got to be the worse class ever invented.

divierto i need your opinion. i just got my betsey johnson bag and i love love love it, but its an overnighter and i am left wondering if it is seriously way too huge, but i love big bags. i'm just wondering if it looks silly, what do you guys think? even if i were to send it back and get the smaller size, it is only 2-3 inches smaller, so i wonder if it's even worth it.

So, Rent closed on Broadway last year, and they recorded the last performance and released it into theaters for four days a while ago. WELL, THEY ARE RELEASING IT ON DVD FEBRUARY 3RD. AND IT'S AMAZING. EVERYONE IN THE CAST IS PERFECT. I'M SO EXCITED. idgaf that i don't have a job or money, i'm getting it.

okay div, I need your help because I'm about to punch a baby in the face, or maybe end a relationship that is really important to me.
So, my friend and I want to get out of our houses really badly. My boyfriend wants to move out, but not as badly. Today we go look at the apartment together that we want (We've been searching for months, just not together), and when the agent asks us if we'd like to fill out an application, it's my boyfriend who immediately says "Sure, why not?" in a really enthusiastic way. I was surprised, because I thought he would want to wait, but since he wanted to and I know I'm ready and padded enough to, I was all for it.
So basically, my boyfriend will be able to make it and buy everything he needs, he won't be living in luxury but I said I'll take some of his rent for a while so he can save a little extra money.
We get a call saying we've been approved a few hours later, and with a green light meaning we don't have the pay the substantial amount of a security deposit we had been counting on. It was really surprising and made me happy. At this point... my boyfriend goes "I can't do it."
So he's backing out. And I know I can't find another roommate between now and the 7th (when we agreed to move in). I'm fucking livid as hell, because it was him who got this whole ball rolling and now... I don't know what to do. I don't want to call them and say nevermind, because I want to move out so badly, and so does my friend. I also don't want to piss them off because this is where I want to live when I do move out. But I don't think I could keep up both his share and my share for more than three months. What the hell do I do?
Also, the relationship part of the aspect... I feel betrayed and very frustrated with him. I don't know whether or not I can stay with him after this because it's just... kind of representative of what he might be like if we got married or some shit and then he just up and decides "Oh, I can't do it." I know I'm being irrational but it's just not a good time hormonally for me and I just wish he would have decided he "couldn't do it" BEFORE I paid the damn application fee and we settled everything.

I know the Eye of Horus (Eye of Ra) has a different meaning depending on the direction it's facing (left or right. also both eyes have a different meaning too). Does anyone know these meaning or where I can find them? I kind of forgot -_-"
