Ikeda's Wedding Dungeon Crawl
Who: Shadow Kiriko and Exploration Team.
What: Dungeon crawling.
Where: Ikeda's Wedding Dungeon Crawl.
When: June 14/15
Why: Dungeon crawling chat supplementals!

The entrance to the dungeon takes the form of a small, Western-style chapel, with sleek, towering glass buildings visible in the distance. The closest seems to be a hotel, but an inaccessible skyline lined with modern office buildings and interesting architecture belonging to no particular cityscape is visible as well.

ETA: Dungeon Summary for those who have missed all or parts of it and don't want to pick through the chat.

Also note that Yuuto and Masami are chained together, and Emi isn't chained to anyone at all.

Kozue tugged on Keiichi's sleeve a little: clear signal of let's go dance, okay. She'd been quiet throughout most of the slightly traumatic and up-close-and-personal climb up through the dungeon--and especially since the silhouette-play between Kiriko and Toshiro--and just now, she didn't really feel like talking.

Luckily, she was chained to someone she was dating, and didn't the rules say that if she told Keiichi she wanted to dance, he had to ask her? Those were the rules she was playing by, at least.

Things were looking a bit grim for Toru. Regardless of that fact that this ballroom was simply gorgeous, he was also being ordered to dance. With Yoshimi, who he didn't know, and who he also suspected of being attracted to other girls. It didn't help that he had no idea how to dance. And that they were chained together, too.

With a sheepish look on his face, he looked down at his 'partner.' "S-so, Tachibana-san... I-I guess we need to dance now."

Maeko looked over her shoulders, trying to spot Misaki and Kou. She glared at Kou again. If he let anything happen to Misaki...

Kanaye did, though she didn't want to admit it, have a point. They needed to get through this whole thing as quickly as possible before things started exploding again. If this was the quickest way to get the door open then it was probably best that they get it done with.

"...fine." She said, sighing. "Lead on."

Kanaye posed. VICTOLY! Chuckling slightly, he leaned down and held out a hand for Maeko. "Shall we dance, milady?" he asked, dropping his voice to a low, dignified whisper while looking at her solemnly.

He promptly grabbed her free hand with his own while laughing his ass off, dragging her away on the dance floor. "Gladly!" he announced happily as he turned to face Maeko. Grabbed her chained hand, he began to lead her in a waltz. Yay for formal dance training!

Toshimi had told Kiriko before that she liked dancing well enough when the time was right for dancing, but this was not exactly what she had in mind. She'd been able to get through the dungeon thus far by thinking of the chain between herself as nothing more than the bind in a three-legged race. Actually ballroom dancing was a romantic activity, though, no matter how she tried to think of it.

Tom was all right as a battle partner, but Toshimi didn't especially want to do something so intimate with him. He was kind of scary for her tastes, after all. She looked over at the door, wondering if there was any workaround for this situation. She couldn't think of any--in Paradise, the easiest thing to do was usually just to go along with whatever happened. So dancing it was. "It...doesn't look like we have a choice."

She turned to glance at Tom. He seemed mature enough--maybe he would somehow be able to think of this as a three-legged race also. And if he could do it, so could she...even for something as personal as a couples' dance. She smiled up at him. "Sagaki-senpai, um..." There was no way to ask him not to think anything of it without being awkward or rude. "Are you going to be all right...?" she asked, hoping it implied what she meant at least a little bit.

Masami had remained pretty much silent during the foray through the dungeon so far; not necessarily because the whole affair bothered her(though it kind of did) but because she was mostly confused by it all. She herself couldn't think of anyone who'd ever been remotely interested in her romantically, so she didn't get why Kiriko would turn down her chance.

Of course, that was all Masami's own incredible cluelessness coming into play.

Either way, here she was, stuck with Yuuto. Not the worst person to be chained to, though she still didn't really know him well at all(though he already had a nickname for her for some reason...).

Masami had never really danced before, but she was somewhat confident that kendo might have developed her sense of footwork enough to at least improvise. It wasn't a theory she really wanted to test. Still, seeing no real alternative she hesitantly spoke up.

"Tanaka-senpai..." she tried her best to sound calm and controlled, but knew she most likely sounded kind of awkward anyway, "I don't really know anything about dancing but it looks like we have to, unless we want to just leave Ikeda-san here... so... do you know anything about it?"

Dealing with the trials of Kiriko's dungeon was starting to take its toll on Renju a bit, and being chained to Reizo was making it worse. When she wasn't being carried around like a sack of potatoes, keeping up with his much longer stride was tiring, and he didn't seem to particularly care about her safety as long as she wasn't slowing him down.

He had saved her, true, but that didn't mean much. Certainly not to him, no doubt.

Inwardly cursing Kiriko's Shadow, she craned her neck up to look at Reizo, her expression very carefully neutral. "Can you dance?" Doubtful, and doubly doubtful that he'd want to, but the quicker they got this over with, the better.

Reizo hadn’t moved much since he’d launched himself into the room and pushed up off the ground and taken a seat on the ground and unpacked his cigarettes for a smoke break. He tipped his head back towards the nearest speaker when the music cut off and the shrill, ever annoying voice of Ikeda-bitch took over, grimaced, and took a cursory glance up at Renju.

“I can move,” he answered, the normal swagger he’d put into that sort of statement curiously replaced by something brooding and pouty.

Indifference slipped back into place on his face and he went back to taking long, patient drags off his cigarette. If he was going to dance, he was at least gonna finish his cigarette first. He looked like an inmate awaiting execution.

Tom mistakenly believed Toshi was asking him if he was going to be all right, based on the incident in Toru’s dungeon where Misaki hugged him. He further mistakenly believed that she was asking if he was going to freeze up at the physical, but non-violent contact. He gave her a confident nod to assure her.

“Don’t worry Nawanaka. I’ve done a good deal of reading since we saved Ishinomori. Dancing was mentioned a number of times. I think I have the basics down.”

He turned to face her, and reached out with his chained hand to clasp hers so their palms were together. He intertwined his fingers with hers, and raised both their arms. He reached out to put her free hand on his shoulder, and then moved his free hand down to her waist.

It was when he placed his hand on the curve of her hip that he felt that odd sensation in the pit of his stomach. He hadn’t felt it since the aforementioned Misaki hug. It was strange, it felt both desirable, and unwelcome, and it was damn distracting too. He felt warmth on his cheeks, and pushed the whole feeling aside like he was used to doing with pain or discomfort. He reminded himself to focus on the mission, and his face settled into a mask.

“Seeing as Ikeda has cast us in traditional roles, I should be leading. If you can, step forward when I step backward. I’ll gently push, or pull with my hands to give you an indication of which direction we’ll go.”

He waited for her to give him some indication that she understood before he stepped back with his right foot, and moved onto the dance floor.

Although it was not the 'Think nothing of it, Nawanaka-san, I see you as a teammate' that she had been hoping for, Toshimi felt somewhat reassured by Tom's answer. He'd read about dancing in books, so this must have been nothing but academic to him, right? She smiled to herself. It had been silly of her to even be worried about it. "That's good, then," she said.

Because she'd been expecting it, Toshi didn't really react to his touch. She let her hand rest where he'd placed it on his shoulder and looked up at him. Really, this didn't have to be any more awkward than earlier when he'd picked her up during the fight (although he'd handled it pretty impressively, now that she thought about it). It was all just a game. If Tom was doing anything at that point to indicate otherwise, Toshimi didn't notice. "Of course I know how to dance, Sagaki-senpai," she said pleasantly. "You don't have to explain it to me."

With that, they moved together out onto the floor. Toshimi followed Tom's steps without any real trouble. The music was slower than anything she remembered dancing to before, and Toshimi never had a very good sense of rhythm, so once or twice she wanted to move too soon and stumbled a little bit as she stopped herself. This did give her an excuse to stare at her feet instead of Tom for a little while, but a few measures later she realized this was no good. She didn't want to give anybody any strange ideas, but she also didn't want Tom to think she was trying to avoid him somehow. The way she saw it, there was nowhere she could focus on that had a good chance of averting both problems.

The fastest solution she could think of was to make some innocent conversation. "So, uh...it's too bad about the knives. I would have liked to use them today, but...they'll probably come back once we leave."

Tom began to wonder why Toshi knew how to dance, it seemed like an odd activity for her learn, and he wondered when it might come in useful. Made a note to himself to do more research on dancing and it's applications.

Toshi may know how to dance, but Tom was going entirely off of written instructions, and diagrams, so he was far more stilted in his movements then his dance partner. It was like he was working it out in his head, and the notion of just moving with the music was completely alien to him.

Tom was also attempting to keep his eyes off of Toshi, it seemed like their closeness was engendering that strange feeling, and it was harder to repress when they made eye contact. Though he was now able to say that Toshi's eyes were fairly large and soft shade of brown.

Though her speaking was thankfully enough to distract him.

"Even if they don't, we can go ahead and grab more. It's my father's money so you don't have to feel too bad about spending it, I didn't earn it either."

The third or fourth time Toshi made an error, she started keeping careful track of the music to keep from messing up again. It was only then that she noticed that Tom was having difficulties as well, and remembered that he implied he'd never danced before earlier. At least Toshimi had done this before. She wondered if it would be helpful to say something, but decided against it. She was coordinated enough not to embarrass herself, but not so much that she felt comfortable giving advice.

Once again, she remained totally unaware (or at least in severe denial) of any tension in the air. Although it was weird to be in Paradise with no apparent danger, Paradise itself was weird enough that Toshi accepted whatever happened there as an alternate reality, for the most part. She kept this thought to herself, as well.

"Is that right?" she said conversationally. She was still slightly uncomfortable with this kind of attitude towards money. For the most part it didn't come up in polite conversation, so she rarely had to think of ways to avoid discussing it. She racked her brain for a non-transparent subject change. Perhaps lead in from something he'd said. But the subject of the knives had been exhausted, the subject of feeling bad about spending money was what she wanted to avoid, so that left...his father, whom she knew nothing about. Except, hadn't he told her what business he was in at some point? "Um...artificial intelligence, right?" she said. "Do you know much about it? I've been reading about...well, this and that."

Tom blinked at Toshi as she spoke. He had been mentally counting out the music and trying to match his steps to the numbers in his head. Unfortunatly TOm wasn't great with numbers so he had to really focus, and was rather surprised when his dance partner said something.

"Oh, he was one of a couple of companies in the early 80's working on it apparently. It was before I was born though so I only know about it through second hand sources. But I was checking into it, I like to know where the money I'm wasting comes from. On top of that the whole thing is... kind of odd.

It was Apparently a big project Almost 20 years ago, Everyone was working on it, but around '87 the project just... ended. Kind of like a business fad. My families company ended up spreading around the technology for it, bit by bit in video games and..."

At this point Tom paused as he realized he had stepped on Toshi's foot.

"Oh...uh... sorry."

"Oh, yeah! We, uh, need to get dancing!" Yoshimi certainly wasn't nervous. No way. She was quite the experienced dancer. Nevermind that most of those experiences involved strobe lights, mosh pits, and/or random guys grinding on her, none of which seemed particularly relevant to the situation. Except maybe the flickering lights.

She did have a vague idea of the mechanics for ballroom dancing (thank you, AkoRuko fanart), but gathering all of one's information on a subject from BL had its drawbacks. To start with, relying on an all-male example left her with no idea where to put her hands.

I'm a girl, so I should copy the uke, right?

But seme-uke with those two is tricky. Ako's taller, but Ruko's one of those short little spitfire types, and they'd both look good on top. So I should copy... ...er...

She had no idea, which meant that it was time for Plan B: ripping off someone who looked like they knew what they were doing. Kozue, an apparent expert on all things girly, seemed like a good choice, except for the fact that she and Keiichi looked... closer than was strictly necessary for anyone, much less for a pair of semi-strangers like herself and Toru. But Yoshimi guessed that the pose would work just as well if a few more inches were added between the participants.

Let's see... left hand to his right shoulder, right hand to left hand. It was like a really awkward, vertical game of Whirler. With more chains.

"Do Shadows always try to get people to do weird stuff like this, or is it just Ikeda-san's?" she asked - partially out of curiosity, and partially to break the ice while she got her hands into place.

Toru had expected Yoshimi to be a more experienced dancer than he; truth be told, it didn't take much. So when she hesitated to consider where the heck she'd put her hands, he just took it as a natural step of the process of ballroom dancing. After all, his only experience in memory of any dancing of this sort was a scene in a mecha anime. But that time, the girl had actually been Cohirria in drag, trying to get information out of "her" dance partner. He quickly attempted to banish the thought from his mind. It helped that at that point Yoshimi had put her hand on his shoulder. He jumped a little, unused to the touch, but quickly settled back in once he realized what it was.

"Ah, um..." he stalled as he in turn attempted to figure out where his hands went. With no real memory of what to do, Toru settled on mirroring Yoshimi, free hand on her shoulder, other hand in hers. It was... awkward, to say the least.

"W-well, Oubai-sempai's had us all dressed like doctors and nurses... a-and, well, mine..." He stalled, reminded unpleasantly of the events of his own dungeon as recounted by his teammates. "I-I wasn't there for all of it, but he put them through a whole series of "games." U-um... one of them was a dating sim."

"T-teehee, nurse outfits. So something like this is just about average?"

Yoshimi tried really, really hard not to laugh, grin widely, or get completely distracted at the idea of her classmates being forced into a dating sim. The first two she accomplished; the third, not so much. Consciously, she realized that Toru's dungeon must have been working towards a larger, more serious point, just like Kiriko's Shadow making everyone couple up and dance, but the concept...

Kiriko as the hard-to-get class representative! Renju, the stoic, emotionless girl! Masami, the sporty option! Emi as the token loli... actually, that one's kind of creepy. She probably just got sidelined like she did today.

But speculation on the details of a Nanakamado dating sim could (and probably would) wait until later. For the moment, she stole another glance at Kozue and Keiichi, then switched her attention back to herself and Toru. Of the four of them, it looked like someone was posed wrong, but she assumed that she was just mirroring the other couple's image the wrong way. If spatial relations were her strong suit, she wouldn't have tripped into Paradise in the first place.

Satisfied that her hands were at pretty much in the right place, she tried to get a feel for the music while she waited for her partner to start leading. She'd overheard once that being the girl made ballroom dancing comparatively easy, since being guided along took all the guesswork out of it, but that reasoning failed to take into account the fact that Yoshimi was clumsy enough to run into walls on a regular basis. For her, being tugged along could only end with her stumbling onto someone's toes, and being tugged along with an ankle chain to trip her up could only end in tears.

Toru looked sheepishly at Yoshimi. She really wasn't going to say anything about the dating sim? Eh, it was probably for the better. "Y-yeah, this isn't so out of the ordinary in a place like Paradise." That isn't necessarily a good thing, though...

Thus the dance begun. And the problems that arose from it. Because, no matter how clumsy Yoshimi was at the art of ballroom dancing, Toru was fifty times worse. After all, this was the guy who regularly stumbled over girls when he was just walking to places. Ballroom dancing was a whole new level to take his clumsiness to. Within seconds, he was tripping over his partner, stumbling in each direction while attempting to dance and watch Keiichi's dance moves at the same time. The chain, of course, made things even worse.

"A-ah, s-sorry, Yoshimi-san... I... really am no good at this."
