Ikeda's Wedding Dungeon Crawl
Who: Shadow Kiriko and Exploration Team.
What: Dungeon crawling.
Where: Ikeda's ~~Wedding~~ Dungeon Crawl.
When: June 14/15
Why: Dungeon crawling chat supplementals!

The entrance to the dungeon takes the form of a small, Western-style chapel, with sleek, towering glass buildings visible in the distance. The closest seems to be a hotel, but an inaccessible skyline lined with modern office buildings and interesting architecture belonging to no particular cityscape is visible as well.

ETA: Dungeon Summary for those who have missed all or parts of it and don't want to pick through the chat.

Also note that Yuuto and Masami are chained together, and Emi isn't chained to anyone at all.

Toshimi had told Kiriko before that she liked dancing well enough when the time was right for dancing, but this was not exactly what she had in mind. She'd been able to get through the dungeon thus far by thinking of the chain between herself as nothing more than the bind in a three-legged race. Actually ballroom dancing was a romantic activity, though, no matter how she tried to think of it.

Tom was all right as a battle partner, but Toshimi didn't especially want to do something so intimate with him. He was kind of scary for her tastes, after all. She looked over at the door, wondering if there was any workaround for this situation. She couldn't think of any--in Paradise, the easiest thing to do was usually just to go along with whatever happened. So dancing it was. "It...doesn't look like we have a choice."

She turned to glance at Tom. He seemed mature enough--maybe he would somehow be able to think of this as a three-legged race also. And if he could do it, so could she...even for something as personal as a couples' dance. She smiled up at him. "Sagaki-senpai, um..." There was no way to ask him not to think anything of it without being awkward or rude. "Are you going to be all right...?" she asked, hoping it implied what she meant at least a little bit.

Masami had remained pretty much silent during the foray through the dungeon so far; not necessarily because the whole affair bothered her(though it kind of did) but because she was mostly confused by it all. She herself couldn't think of anyone who'd ever been remotely interested in her romantically, so she didn't get why Kiriko would turn down her chance.

Of course, that was all Masami's own incredible cluelessness coming into play.

Either way, here she was, stuck with Yuuto. Not the worst person to be chained to, though she still didn't really know him well at all(though he already had a nickname for her for some reason...).

Masami had never really danced before, but she was somewhat confident that kendo might have developed her sense of footwork enough to at least improvise. It wasn't a theory she really wanted to test. Still, seeing no real alternative she hesitantly spoke up.

"Tanaka-senpai..." she tried her best to sound calm and controlled, but knew she most likely sounded kind of awkward anyway, "I don't really know anything about dancing but it looks like we have to, unless we want to just leave Ikeda-san here... so... do you know anything about it?"

Dealing with the trials of Kiriko's dungeon was starting to take its toll on Renju a bit, and being chained to Reizo was making it worse. When she wasn't being carried around like a sack of potatoes, keeping up with his much longer stride was tiring, and he didn't seem to particularly care about her safety as long as she wasn't slowing him down.

He had saved her, true, but that didn't mean much.　Certainly not to him, no doubt.

Inwardly cursing Kiriko's Shadow, she craned her neck up to look at Reizo, her expression very carefully neutral. "Can you dance?" Doubtful, and doubly doubtful that he'd want to, but the quicker they got this over with, the better.

Reizo hadn’t moved much since he’d launched himself into the room and pushed up off the ground and taken a seat on the ground and unpacked his cigarettes for a smoke break. He tipped his head back towards the nearest speaker when the music cut off and the shrill, ever annoying voice of Ikeda-bitch took over, grimaced, and took a cursory glance up at Renju.

“I can move,” he answered, the normal swagger he’d put into that sort of statement curiously replaced by something brooding and pouty.

Indifference slipped back into place on his face and he went back to taking long, patient drags off his cigarette. If he was going to dance, he was at least gonna finish his cigarette first. He looked like an inmate awaiting execution.

Tom mistakenly believed Toshi was asking him if he was going to be all right, based on the incident in Toru’s dungeon where Misaki hugged him. He further mistakenly believed that she was asking if he was going to freeze up at the physical, but non-violent contact. He gave her a confident nod to assure her.

“Don’t worry Nawanaka. I’ve done a good deal of reading since we saved Ishinomori. Dancing was mentioned a number of times. I think I have the basics down.”

He turned to face her, and reached out with his chained hand to clasp hers so their palms were together. He intertwined his fingers with hers, and raised both their arms. He reached out to put her free hand on his shoulder, and then moved his free hand down to her waist.

It was when he placed his hand on the curve of her hip that he felt that odd sensation in the pit of his stomach. He hadn’t felt it since the aforementioned Misaki hug. It was strange, it felt both desirable, and unwelcome, and it was damn distracting too. He felt warmth on his cheeks, and pushed the whole feeling aside like he was used to doing with pain or discomfort. He reminded himself to focus on the mission, and his face settled into a mask.

“Seeing as Ikeda has cast us in traditional roles, I should be leading. If you can, step forward when I step backward. I’ll gently push, or pull with my hands to give you an indication of which direction we’ll go.”

He waited for her to give him some indication that she understood before he stepped back with his right foot, and moved onto the dance floor.

Although it was not the 'Think nothing of it, Nawanaka-san, I see you as a teammate' that she had been hoping for, Toshimi felt somewhat reassured by Tom's answer. He'd read about dancing in books, so this must have been nothing but academic to him, right? She smiled to herself. It had been silly of her to even be worried about it. "That's good, then," she said.

Because she'd been expecting it, Toshi didn't really react to his touch. She let her hand rest where he'd placed it on his shoulder and looked up at him. Really, this didn't have to be any more awkward than earlier when he'd picked her up during the fight (although he'd handled it pretty impressively, now that she thought about it). It was all just a game. If Tom was doing anything at that point to indicate otherwise, Toshimi didn't notice. "Of course I know how to dance, Sagaki-senpai," she said pleasantly. "You don't have to explain it to me."

With that, they moved together out onto the floor. Toshimi followed Tom's steps without any real trouble. The music was slower than anything she remembered dancing to before, and Toshimi never had a very good sense of rhythm, so once or twice she wanted to move too soon and stumbled a little bit as she stopped herself. This did give her an excuse to stare at her feet instead of Tom for a little while, but a few measures later she realized this was no good. She didn't want to give anybody any strange ideas, but she also didn't want Tom to think she was trying to avoid him somehow. The way she saw it, there was nowhere she could focus on that had a good chance of averting both problems.

The fastest solution she could think of was to make some innocent conversation. "So, uh...it's too bad about the knives. I would have liked to use them today, but...they'll probably come back once we leave."

Tom began to wonder why Toshi knew how to dance, it seemed like an odd activity for her learn, and he wondered when it might come in useful. Made a note to himself to do more research on dancing and it's applications.

Toshi may know how to dance, but Tom was going entirely off of written instructions, and diagrams, so he was far more stilted in his movements then his dance partner. It was like he was working it out in his head, and the notion of just moving with the music was completely alien to him.

Tom was also attempting to keep his eyes off of Toshi, it seemed like their closeness was engendering that strange feeling, and it was harder to repress when they made eye contact. Though he was now able to say that Toshi's eyes were fairly large and soft shade of brown.

Though her speaking was thankfully enough to distract him.

"Even if they don't, we can go ahead and grab more. It's my father's money so you don't have to feel too bad about spending it, I didn't earn it either."

The third or fourth time Toshi made an error, she started keeping careful track of the music to keep from messing up again. It was only then that she noticed that Tom was having difficulties as well, and remembered that he implied he'd never danced before earlier. At least Toshimi had done this before. She wondered if it would be helpful to say something, but decided against it. She was coordinated enough not to embarrass herself, but not so much that she felt comfortable giving advice.

Once again, she remained totally unaware (or at least in severe denial) of any tension in the air. Although it was weird to be in Paradise with no apparent danger, Paradise itself was weird enough that Toshi accepted whatever happened there as an alternate reality, for the most part. She kept this thought to herself, as well.

"Is that right?" she said conversationally. She was still slightly uncomfortable with this kind of attitude towards money. For the most part it didn't come up in polite conversation, so she rarely had to think of ways to avoid discussing it. She racked her brain for a non-transparent subject change. Perhaps lead in from something he'd said. But the subject of the knives had been exhausted, the subject of feeling bad about spending money was what she wanted to avoid, so that left...his father, whom she knew nothing about. Except, hadn't he told her what business he was in at some point? "Um...artificial intelligence, right?" she said. "Do you know much about it? I've been reading about...well, this and that."

Tom blinked at Toshi as she spoke. He had been mentally counting out the music and trying to match his steps to the numbers in his head. Unfortunatly TOm wasn't great with numbers so he had to really focus, and was rather surprised when his dance partner said something.

"Oh, he was one of a couple of companies in the early 80's working on it apparently. It was before I was born though so I only know about it through second hand sources. But I was checking into it, I like to know where the money I'm wasting comes from. On top of that the whole thing is... kind of odd.

It was Apparently a big project Almost 20 years ago, Everyone was working on it, but around '87 the project just... ended. Kind of like a business fad. My families company ended up spreading around the technology for it, bit by bit in video games and..."

At this point Tom paused as he realized he had stepped on Toshi's foot.

"Oh...uh... sorry."
