School Trip, Day One. (Bus Ride, Eating Somewhere and Onsen)
Who: EVERYONE (npcs welcome)
What: Bus Ride, Eating, Onsen, Night 1 at hotel.
Where: ON A BUS
When: Late May
Why: We like trips.

Aomori-sensei was clearly not in the best of moods. He hadn't been for a while. Still, there was an air of excitement about the students who were assembling to get on the buses as they chose thier seat partners and talked. It wasn't every day that they went on a school trip. Very few of them had been paying much attention in the half-day of lessons before. Even Ishino-sensei looked the happiest she'd been since the incident.

She went through the lines of pupils, checking thier permission forms, while Aomori and Banno-sensei herded them into the coaches.

She exchanged brief words with the owner regarding her tea preference and moments later was looking back to Misaki, sipping gingerly from a piping hot teacup.

"You were on the bus, though, right? They didn't put you in the luggage, did they?"

She was only half-joking. As she remembered, that had been one of the back-up plans it seemed to her that Misaki would probably go along with something like that.

"I thought the bus ride was going to be miserable because of my seat partner, but Kondo-san sat with me instead. Still, it was a bit of a madhouse back there, wasn't it? I'm amazed Retsu made it here with his face intact - he was trying to pick a fight with Shirai behind me. He got hit, kind of, but if you ask me, he deserved it for sheer stupidity. I also saw that Ito-san got soaked by a flying water bottle. Shirai didn't throw it, though, so I guess it must have been an accident. That's just his luck, huh?"

She stirred her tea, looking mildly amused as she recounted the bus trip. Vaguely, Kiriko wondered if she was intruding, but figured that if she didn't, someone else would have eventually. She was actually quite surprised that her cohort had managed to give Maeko the slip, and cast a brief look around for her senpai to confirm that she wasn't merely lurking in the shadows somewhere.

"Are you glad you got to come? Did Akuba-san convince your mom?"

"I heard about the little fight behind us but...I didn't know it was Shirai-san," Misaki said softly and took a sip of her tea. She ran her fingers over the rim and seemed a bit heisitent in talking. "The water thing...that was me. I was trying to throw the water to Satou-san...I think I got him upset."

She sighed deeply and looked at her friend, then smiled, "Yes, I am, and she did. I didn't ask her how though. I'm...just worried that the others are mad at me." Misaki put her elbows on the table, "I think I hurt Shiori-chan, but...I think she really likes Keiichi-sempai. She can say they're just friends, but she was upset by him kissing Kozue-chan. I just wish he would realize that."

Misaki tapped the table, "Kiriko-chan...I...I don't know what to do. I don't mean to get them upset, but I want Shiori-chan to be happy, and I don't think she'll be happy with Satou-sempai."

Kiriko blinked. She'd thought what was upsetting her was something to do with her parents, not a misfired waterbottle! She decided not to confess to laughing behind her hand at the sight of a drenched and exasperated Keiichi. She ran her thumb over the handle of the china cup, contemplative. Really, she didn't know what had happened or what Misaki had said. In her head she played out a few scenarios and found it quite impossible to come up with anything that could be seen as deliberately offensive, and so sat across the table with a curious frown on her face, considering her words.

"I doubt anyone is mad at you," she said slowly. "And maybe the best thing to do is nothing at all."

She took another sip of tea. Whether or not she should be advising anyone at all, she couldn't say, but she'd decided to go ahead and do it anyway.

"If you told Watanaka-san what you think, then there's nothing else you can do about it. If she isn't happy with Satou, well, she'll discover that on her own, won't she? And as for Ito-san..." She paused to take the pastry she'd ordered from the waiter who'd just brought it to the table and nibble delicately at one corner. "Kondo-san kissed him first. He looked pretty flustered. I don't think Watakana has any right to be upset with him, and even if she is, she should talk to him instead of sulking about it."

"Well I hope so, Shiori chan was saying about how Keiichi-sempai seemed happy kissing Kozue-sempai and I was just telling her that he likes her." Misaki explained and shook her head. "I think I made her mad when I was saying that. I think she thinks that he likes Kozue-chan, but I really don't think that's the case. And your right she should talk to him, and Satou-san...I don't think the way he acts is really him."

Looking at her cup she smiled some, "You know when you asked me what I wanted do do in the future on your journal Kiriko-chan, to be honest...there is something I want to be, but I can't. At least my family doesn't seem to think I'll ever get to be that. Do you think it's bad to want to be something that your family thinks is stupid?" Misaki looked up at her, "I guess that's what I admire about you Kiriko chan, you'd probably not need someone to stand up for you to your mother. You could have just told her that you wanted to go, but...I can't seem to. Maybe that's why no on really likes me. I can't seem to do things right."

Kiriko's mouth fell partway open, closed again, opened again, then twisted into a slightly apologetic smile that she hoped didn't seem too forced. Misaki said the darndest things. In her core she felt a twinge of guilt and anger at herself and fought down the urge to correct her friend.

"I don't think it's stupid at all. What do you want to be, Misaki-chan?"

She'd caught the rest of what Misaki was saying - the hopeless intone, saying she could never do things right and no one liked her... Really, it caught her almost as off-guard as her comment about all of her supposed strength. She reserved comment on that for the moment and was instead searching her mind for something Misaki had done that was particularly wrong, and coming up with nothing. It seemed odd to Kiriko that Misaki could be so insistent on the inner greatness of everyone else and here she was being down on herself simultaneously.

For now, she'd just listen.

"I...well...please don't tell the others I said this, it'll be really bad. I mean the only person that probably would know is Shiori chan and I make it seem like it's a hobby. But...I really want to be a fashion designer. You know...own a shop and make lines of clothing that no one else has." she twisted her spoon and tipped up her head some and smiled. "My Mother...I told her once about it, and she just sort of looked at me then laughed, and said that she found it funny. She didn't seem to be too happy about the idea of anything to do with fashion or anything. She would rather me be a scientest or something...she thinks I should really think about staying home, since my grades won't get me into a science college."

Misaki ran her fingers in her hair, "I suppose being a stay at home mom won't be too bad right? I mean I can have fun for three years and then...well maybe find someone to marry or work at an office as a coffee girl."

She pursed her lips as if sucking on a lemon, fought back her instinctive reaction with a long sip of tea, then collected herself to respond.

"What's your mother's problem?"

Kiriko kept her tone mostly smooth, but there was a hint of anger in her voice. She was always particularly sensitive to parental issues, but was currently ticking off the number of ways Misaki's mother was pissing her off in the back of her mind. She turned her head to look out the window and watch some of the people pass, refocusing herself.

"You should do that, then, if it's what you want. I haven't seen much of the stuff you've made, but what I have seen seems pretty good. Why don't you go to fashion school after you graduate? You don't need really high marks to get in, I think -- just examples of work you've done."

On some level she was mildly suprised that Misaki didn't want to be a stay-at-home mom or a coffee girl, but in her opinion, it was much better to have ambitions anyway - especially for a girl like Misaki.

"I...I don't know," Misaki said softly. This was why she hardly ever talked about her family. People got mad, and she didn't know what to say. While she didn't like it, she was her mother...and she did love her. Misaki pushed her hair back and looked out. "I think she just wants me to be able to have money to take care of myself. She wants to make sure that I'm...taken care of. I guess."

"But...I don't know, most of my family went to university, and that's where I'm supposed to go. I mean, every one in my family either is going for Math or science, or in Tomako's case, history. I..." she blushed some and giggled, "I'm just the weird one. I suppose it seems weird that I would care what they think, but I do...they're my family. I love them, even if they get upset at me."

She smiled brightly, "You're one of the first people to tell me I have a chance at doing something like that. I'm really glad you're my friend Kiriko-chan. You're like a prince in a way. You always seem to ride to the rescue when I need some one to care about me. Ah...forgive me if I say this so bluntly, but I really do love you Kiriko chan. Ah...Not like you know boyfriend girlfriend, but it's the same way I love Maeko-chan. I really like being around you. You're just...I really like being around you. I feel safe when I'm around you."

Misaki looked at her excitedly, "What about you, Kiriko-chan? What's the person you want to be when you graduate?"

She really was very fond of Misaki, but the knack she had for inadvertantly making her uncomfortable was almost uncanny. She tried to keep her squirming to a minimum through her digression about family, smiled quite genuinely when Misaki told her how she felt (That's really sweet of her, though I guess I can be protective, but I still think she's off base...), then tried not to look too crestfallen at the question the other girl chose to end with. Kiriko didn't answer at first, just propped her chin up on the heel of her palm and stared sidelong out the window.

"I-"

She didn't want to answer that question and she wasn't even sure how, so she gave Misaki another apolegetic simper, sat back in her chair and took a bite of pastry.

"-I haven't decided yet," she said with an indifferent little shrug. "Nothing, I guess."

She went for another sip of tea and found, much to her annoyance, that the glass was already empty.

"Anyway, parents can be troublesome. Just try to enjoy the trip and forget about it. That's what I'm doing."

Misaki nodded slowly, she could tell there was something behind that answer but decided it was best not to press. It was okay though, Kiriko was allowed to keep things to herself, as Misaki never was one to push people to tell her things unless she genuinely felt that they were in trouble of some sort. In this case she felt nothing like that, and figured, in due time, Kiriko would tell her. She could wait, it was something that Misaki knew she was good at.

"Well that's okay, you'll probably think of something, and if not, we could open up a store together," she giggled brightly trying to make Kiriko smile. "Yeah I guess so...OH! I was thinking...we should do something fun together Kiriko-chan just you and me! Maybe we should go visit some of the shrines around here. I hear there's one that's supposed to bring you luck."

She paused and looked puzzled, "By the way, Kiriko chan, what did you make of Toru's dungeon? I really want to help him, but...I mean...all I can do is talk to him about anime, and games and stuff. I don't...I don't know how to help him with what was going on in there, and I don't want him feeling weird about it you know."

Some would find it rather disconcerting to have some random person just walk up and sit down in the middle of their conversation. So it would be understandable if Misaki and Kiriko felt the same way when a young man in a black suit, and hat pulled low to cover his face did just that.

He set down a tray of food that was very obviously brought from home as he slid into a seat next to Kiriko, taking special care to keep the table between him and Misaki, then gave the dark haired woman next to him a sideways glance that showed that this young man could be none other then Thomas Sagaki.

"Alright, why don't we visit the shrines together before we leave, then?"

She was glad for the subject change, but really, she wasn't too certain how to answer any questions about the dungeon, either. She didn't know Toru too well, but could sympathize with how upset the boy had been. All the same, she'd been having trouble not casting suspicion on him after that "dating sim" fiasco. Maybe he wasn't such a trustworthy kind of guy.

Sort of like the young man who'd just plopped into the seat next to her.

When she noticed it was Thomas, her surprise turned quickly to irritation. Speaking of suspcious characters...

"I'm sorry, did either of us invite you to interrupt?" The look she shot him matched the chilly note in her voice.

Misaki nodded happily, "Mmmhumm, that sounds like a good idea. We can take some really good pictures from up there too."

Humming happily Misaki at first didn't see Tom walk in, it was only when he set down his tray and then sat beside Kiriko that she noticed. Normally the young woman wasn't irritated by things, but one of her petpeeves was when people ate food that was brought from home or another store in a resturant. It just irked her.

She glanced at Tom, then at Kiriko and sipped her tea saying softly, "You know it is really rude to eat food from another place in a store that doesn't serve that sort of food. Don't you think kiriko-chan?"

Tom cocked his head to the side in thought.

"Can you really invite someone to interrupt? If you invite someone, then they aren't really interrupting are you?"

He leaned his head down again, and took a bite of his food. If he was bothered by Kiriko's icy stare he didn't show it.

"Anyway, I don't plan on being here for too long.
You mentioned that your group would meet on the trip, I wanted to know when and where."

She stared for a few moments at Tom, apparently willing him to burst into flames. When this did not immediately happen, she looked back to Misaki, then sighed, smoothing a napkin out in front of her and rummaging around in her bag.

"Yes, I agree that it's very rude," she muttered, pulling a pen from her purse and starting to scribble something on the napkin. When she was finished, she picked it up and passed it and the pen to Tom, not bothering to look at him in the process. "In case you've been behind on your stalking and haven't managed to find my number, here it is. Write yours down for me. The date and time hasn't been decided yet, but I'll text you when it has."

Misaki eyed Tom carefully and covered her wrist, keeping well enough away from him. She watched as Kiriko gave her number and bit her lip some. "Um...I'm going to get some tea."

She got up and turned to walk away casting a nervous glance at him as she did so.

Tom folded the napkin and slid into this pocket. He looked up for a moment. He actually seemed to watch to make sure Misaki was doing what she said she was doing. Then he pulled the hat lower over his face, and looked toward Kiriko. He pulled a set of papers from his bag, familiar ones, ones for starting a club at Nanakamado.

"I spoke the Principal about your group. Obviously not in the team of people with head gods, instead the story goes that while you felt the anti-bullying clubs methods work, they're too... passive. Necessitating the creation of the Anti-Bullying Club's Special Outreach Program.
Believing that most bullies pick on others to feel good about themselves, your group is dedicated toward finding bullies, connecting with them and getting them back in line. All this school cares about is looking like it's students are in line.
I told a wonderful story about how much you're team has helped me, worked with me on my grades and what not, and how you should be a club. A gradual increase in my marks should show the effectiveness of your methods. After that they should leave you all alone."

He slid the papers over to her, and the names of all the Persona users were listed as club members. Kiriko herself was listed as President under Maeko Akuba.

"That should give you a decent cover story as to why this group is suddenly spending a lot of time together. It was the best I could come up with to explain your teams rather eclectic membership.
You can use the pretense of looking for new club members, or new cases as an excuse to look for potential Persona users. I figure someone as smart as you may even be able to use this as a justification to even look at school records. Check someone out before you bring them in.
I didn't know how often you would want to meet, so I just put the maximum number of meeting days possible for a school club."

He quickly took a few more bites of his food, letting her look over the papers, and clearing his tray so he could stand up to leave again once his business was concluded.

"I also... I've forged memos between the Principal, and the Music teacher. She's been asking for a room with better acoustics since the start of term. I found her one, and made the arrangements for her to move in. The Principal is too swamped trying to deal with the death of one of his students, he won't notice if one of his problems was solved for him, and the Music Teacher is unlikely to complain after getting what she wants.

This frees up Room 22-C. You can use it as a base of operations in the real world. It's at the end of a hall, you can use that to make sure you're safe. Anyone who goes down past 22-B is following you. It has two closets, so you can enter Paradise without being noticed."

"I... what?"

Kiriko sat blinking at the papers for a moment, processing what she was hearing. She seemed to snap to in a moment and leafed through them, gripping the corner between thumb and forefinger as though she suspected the paper had been laced with the polio virus. A moment of reading later and she seemed to decide they were indeed safe to touch, and again flipped through the sheaf, finding all the information he'd just given her to be written down on one page or the next. Looking up, she eyed him suspiciously.

"Why did you make me president?"

"Someone had to be for the forms to pass. And I picked you for the same reason I'm giving you the papers. You're one of the few people on that team I think is actually capable of doing something with this. Ito is another, but they wouldn't listen if he gave this to them. Akuba should know, but she's far too focused on... certain persons of interest. I can go down the list and tick off why all the others aren't a good selection if you need me to, but that would be wasting time.

It's easy to change though, I told him I didn't know which of you was intended to be in charge, so you can re-register the name."

He looked away from Kiriko, and took a sip from his drink, then lowered his head.

She consulted the forms again. Was there anything she had to sign? Was this some kind of scam? Maybe he was on the side of that cop and was just trying to lure them into some kind of trap? If any of that was true it certainly didn't show on the papers - everything looked to be in order. She'd doublecheck before she got back to school.

For now, she tucked them away in her bag and eyed Thomas sidelong.

"Alright. That might be useful, then." She didn't bother to add a 'thank you' and instead leaned around him to see if Misaki would be on her way back shortly. Then, her eyes flicked back to Thomas. "But since it was your idea, Sagaki, you should be the one to persuade Shirai to consent to being an official part of this anti-bullying program."

Misaki came back over slowly with the tea. She didn't understand why Tom was there, and she was trying to avoid him after the whole inccident in the school. He scared her, not as much as before when he grabbed her, but he still made her nervous.

What she really didn't understand was the papers he was giving Kiriko. Why her of all people? What exactly was it that he wanted and why did he actively come to find them? The more she thought about it the more she was glad that Maeko had told her to stay away from boys like him.

When she got back to the table, which took longer then it should have, Misaki sat down and looked at her cup, slowly turning the tea with a silver spoon. The tinking noise it made against the delicate texure of the cup, made her think of really how distant everyone was from one another. She wonder if...like the tea...would they every be able to really come together as one.

Just as Misaki sat down, Tom stood up.

"I'm just covering your tracks. Your team can, if they're careful, act without worry. I would be rather surprised if Shirai was unfamiliar with the concept of creating a public front for activities one would rather keep the police from looking into.

I'll send you a text from my phone, that way you'll have my number."

He turned to leave just as abruptly as he had appeared, then stopped suddenly. He turned back and raised his head enough for Misaki to see his eyes under the brim of his hat.

"Aoi... about... the..."

He shifted uncomfortably, obviously trying to come up with words, and not finding them. There was a flash of concern in his eyes.

"I... um... I... oh.. forget it."

He turned around and moved away from the girls table. He slipped back into the crowd and it wasn't long before he had vanished from sight entirely.

Misaki stared at Tom for a bit not sure what to say. The look in his face told her that he was trying to appologize but she still wasn't sure if it was a ruse or...he confused her too much and it made her nervous around him.

Nodding some before he left she sighed, and moved her hand some, Kiriko if she looked could still make out the light bruising on the girl's wrist. Misaki looked up at her and smiled some quietly, "What did Sagaki-san want, Kiriko-chan?"

Kiriko watched Tom sharply as he made his retreat, and it wasn't until she could no longer see the back of him that she turned to Misaki.

"He registered our... group... as a school club, so we'd look less suspicious. Kind of suspicious in itself if you ask me, but then I don't trust Sagaki as far as I can throw him. I'll have to explain the rest to the team when I get a chance, but I'd like to make sure he's not setting us up for anything first."

She reached out to take herself some tea and noticed the bruises on Misaki's wrist with a lingering frown. After pouring herself a cup and taking a pair of sugar cubes along with it, she leaned back in her chair and took a sip.

"What happened to your wrist, Misaki-chan, did you fall?"

"Huh?" Misaki started and then noticed where Kiriko was looking and quickly pulled down her sleeve some, "Yeah, just a mistake I made. I've been making them more and more recently. It's really starting to bother me."

She pouted some and looked thoughtful, "If we were registered as a club wouldn't that mean we would need to elect officers and such? And Sagaki-san is a bit weird, but I'm sure he wouldn't do that to us...right?" Turning the tea she asked, "Kiriko-chan, can I ask you something and it'll seem a bit strange, but have you...noticed, well...have you been feeling different since we've been going to that world?"
