School Trip, Day One. (Bus Ride, Eating Somewhere and Onsen)
Who: EVERYONE (npcs welcome)
What: Bus Ride, Eating, Onsen, Night 1 at hotel.
Where: ON A BUS
When: Late May
Why: We like trips.

Aomori-sensei was clearly not in the best of moods. He hadn't been for a while. Still, there was an air of excitement about the students who were assembling to get on the buses as they chose thier seat partners and talked. It wasn't every day that they went on a school trip. Very few of them had been paying much attention in the half-day of lessons before. Even Ishino-sensei looked the happiest she'd been since the incident.

She went through the lines of pupils, checking thier permission forms, while Aomori and Banno-sensei herded them into the coaches.

Kiriko watched Tom sharply as he made his retreat, and it wasn't until she could no longer see the back of him that she turned to Misaki.

"He registered our... group... as a school club, so we'd look less suspicious. Kind of suspicious in itself if you ask me, but then I don't trust Sagaki as far as I can throw him. I'll have to explain the rest to the team when I get a chance, but I'd like to make sure he's not setting us up for anything first."

She reached out to take herself some tea and noticed the bruises on Misaki's wrist with a lingering frown. After pouring herself a cup and taking a pair of sugar cubes along with it, she leaned back in her chair and took a sip.

"What happened to your wrist, Misaki-chan, did you fall?"

"Huh?" Misaki started and then noticed where Kiriko was looking and quickly pulled down her sleeve some, "Yeah, just a mistake I made. I've been making them more and more recently. It's really starting to bother me."

She pouted some and looked thoughtful, "If we were registered as a club wouldn't that mean we would need to elect officers and such? And Sagaki-san is a bit weird, but I'm sure he wouldn't do that to us...right?" Turning the tea she asked, "Kiriko-chan, can I ask you something and it'll seem a bit strange, but have you...noticed, well...have you been feeling different since we've been going to that world?"

Kiriko's eyes lingered on Misaki's sleeve. She wasn't particularly satisfied with that answered, but decided there was no use in pushing it - she might bring it up next time Misaki started going on about mistakes.

"Different? How do you mean?"

Misaki thought for a bit and then looked Kiriko in the eye, "Like you feel...I don't know how to put it. Like there's something in my chest that feels tight, but it's not a nice sort of tight, like when your excited or just nervous, it's a bad sort of tight, like you feel dirty almost like you're invadeing someone's room. It's been making me think bad things recently about other people, and I really don't like it. It's also been giving me bad dreams, and well I just haven't been feeling myself recently. I want to be alone more, I feel like curling up into a ball and just sitting in a corner. It's...not a good feeling Kiriko-chan. I've been feeling irritable, and mean."

She looked away embaressed by this.

Kiriko thought back to Thomas and wondered if this was the kind of social awkwardness he felt around other people. It seemed odd to her that Misaki would talk to her of all people about feeling irritable and mean... but better her than Reizo, she supposed.

She reached across the table to tap Misaki's hand lightly, just in order to get her to look back at her.

"Misaki-chan," she began firmly, looking the other girl in the eye. "Sometimes people just get like that. It's okay to be irritable sometimes, and I think what you're experiencing is 'stress'. I've been having dreams about it, too, and I think it's put a strain on all of us. You sound like you're beating yourself up over it."

She had been leaning in as she spoke, and here settled back into her chair with a contemplative glance towards the ceiling.

"I guess we shouldn't judge people too harshly for what goes on in that other world, but I don't really think it's random. I mean, what we're seeing has to be some part of them, right? I don't know. I think the only solutions are to either stop going or to figure out how to manage what we have to deal with... and getting all down on yourself doesn't fall into either of those categories."

She smiled faintly, then poured them both a new cup of tea.

She hoped that Kiriko was right. She prayed that it was just stress, stress she could deal with, it was the possiblity that there was something sinister creeping into them that she couldn't. Her memories of reading about the Inaba inccident two years ago had been bitting on the back of her thoughts, and she wondered if there was any connections to the events that had happened there. Thoughts of taking a trip there, even if alone, to find out what had occured dotted her mind.

Looking up at Kiriko, Misaki gave a relieved smile, happy that it was her that she was telling this to and not Maeko. The older girl would probably insist that it was all in Misaki's head and that she just shouldn't worry about it, or blame it on the others around her pushing her too hard.

"I guess not, I suppose they can't help the situation considering we don't even know how they wind up there. It's just sort of unsettling, and I know I shouldn't be mad at myself for feeling like this, but I'd never say such things to Satou-sempai or even Shiori-chan, and now I'm acting like those girls that used to pick on me, and I really don't like it." Misaki blushed deeply.

"I don't think you're acting mean."

Her face did not show it, but she did reflect on the irony of the statement as she said it - maybe she wasn't the best person to be talking about what constitutes rude behaviour. But, oh well.

"It is unsettling. More so because there doesn't seem to be any purpose to it... I'm not convinced we can't just walk away, to be honest."

Misaki again nodded, somehow talking to someone like Kiriko, who seemed so confident, and was nervous too, helped. She pushed back her hair behind her ear and sipped the tea. "Thank you for saying that Kiriko-chan."

The pink haired girl paused and thought for a moment, "But if we do and other people vanish like Toru-kun and Oubai-sempai did...then they might end up like Sato-kun. I just don't know why it is that we're the ones not...wholely affected. Why did WE get these...personas?"
